I notice a lot of people are wanting mandatory demos but realistically, they could simply allow customers to submit a screen-shot for a game if it doesn’t already have any.

I think this is probably better than having Sony or the Developer do it mostly because I suspect that when it comes to screen-shots, they’re a single advertisement for the game and of course when it comes to that its going to be a complicated process of making sure the features they want shown get displayed.

The fix is player submitted screen-shots for the PSN titles. This allows people who purchased the game, get others excited about it with their screenshots of the game in action.

What baffles me is that when I use my JP account to browse the Japanese PSN store, there ARE screenshots in every description (albeit very small, they are at least there). Not just PS3 games either; I see them on PSP and PS1 games as well.

So why isn’t this a standard practice in all PSN stores? Many of these screenshots will make me want to buy these products. Are you listening Sony? This helps me, this helps you, AND this helps the publishers that support you. Don’t play dumb about this.

If the game is worth buying, you’d do a little bit of research into it (looking it up online). It’s not hard. Just google it.

I think the reason we get such good games on psn is because it is really flexible. Making anything mandatory seems counter productive, and not something we should request.

I couldn’t want this more! There are plenty of download only games, worth 3-5 bucks…with no demo nor screenshots. I’d LOVE all of them to have demos before purchasing, but it’s understandable why there isn’t. But being able to see some screenshots of the game or even a video would help persuade me into a purchase.

Of course, Japan has the images in the description. I’d rather the images be viewable through the ‘Preview’ button like they are for themes.

Yes Sony this is a good idea. The pic would be the easy part just port a few pics from the Japan PSN to the US/CA PSN store. Yes, I know that would only work if the game is out here, but it’s an idea.

At a minimum they should have screen shots, they really should all have video previews. it should be a requirement of posting a game to the service.

Sony do you know how many games I look over because most of the games don’t have no previews video or screen shots. I don’t buy unless there is cuz I don’t know what teh heck I’m buying so plz update all games that don’t have nuthing….oh even the ps1 games and you can bet an increase of profits coming your way Sony ;D

Actually its odd because I went on the Japanese PSN to download the Catherine demo, and ALL of the PSN descriptions have screenshots. Its already implemented for god sakes… Just port the same things across PSN IDK why they have to make it different from U.S. or Europe.

Yeah, this is incredibly obvious. The PSN Store is plagued by awful execution, but the universal lack of screenshots is flabbergasting.

Consider as well that most game descriptions expound the background plot and completely fail to impress upon the customer even the most basic genre s/he can expect. I have personally refrained from many impulse or curiosity buys simply because I could not determine anything useful whatsoever about a title.

I was just about to add This, it pisses me off that you look at the games backs & u see cut screens but no gameplay screenshots pisses me off because if you buy it & it has crap gameplay but good cut screens you feel ripped off

This is more important than ever for the Vita! I would push (Buy Now) a lot more often if I could see the screens – I don’t even always need a demo, but it is always nice to have the option. You are not going to earn more money by letting more games get out sooner — we need to see ‘em first!

I use youtube for that… gameplay videos show MORE than what a simple screenshot does.

And just about every PSN game is on youtube for review.
