people people,i have an idea.everyone go onto the playstation.blog and send am email to the customer service.if we have enough people complaining and demanding the things we want, then eventually we will get them. i sent a message to sony the other day about why we haven’t got any of the top requested features, plus why sony continually chooses to ignore us. this was the reply i got ‘we appreciate your enthusiasm and continued support for our playstation family line of products. as you may have guessed, sony computer entertainment america, llc (scea) receives great suggestions from our consumers, as well as from our own employees, and employees of our affiliates, on a daily basis,’ are they trying to insult my intelligence?if they regularly receive great ideas then why hasn’t none of those so called ‘great ideas’ been implemented?

I have been thinking of this for a long time now! It is such a good idea because sometimes people just send one word messages and it takes a long time to pause your gameplay, open up the playstation button, go to your message box, and read the message just for one message.

Thats how it works on Xbox. Why not ps3?

wrodriguez1  |  July 13th, 2011 at 5:52 pm

darkaria2  |  July 18th, 2011 at 7:48 pm

Great idea the people who put a down on this is probably people from xbox and they are scared that ps3 will over run them I say up this then in the future they will add it

I like this idea…. idk why Sony isn’t putting things like this in. Are there really that many copyright issues or do they not want to?

rdmof6  |  July 20th, 2011 at 3:13 pm

The XMB takes a long time to load whether you’re playing a game or not. I don’t understand this because the XMB is the simplest interface ever. And this idea is convienent

This feature is on the Xbox 360 and it is pretty nice and handy feature. I would love to see it on the PS3.

i hate going through the xmb it take a while to
load

alonzo4  |  August 5th, 2011 at 3:59 pm

yeah you should do that so it can be much faster

421

bren92  |  August 12th, 2011 at 12:58 pm

Out of all the top suggestions on this site, this has to be the easiest to implement, why not just add this and make it the firs idea off the first page to be added, since trophy auto sync doesn’t count.

@austinite04 But xbox sucks… and the on-screen keyboard is abc… not qwerty so PS3 is easier to type on. (my bud has xbox I don’t)

@austinite04
I’m not trying to be an azz or anything, but I hate it when people try to refer you to something else when they would like an option the competition has to offer. I have a 360, but the games aren’t anything I can’t play on my ps3, and I’m not a Halo, or gears of war fan.

So I decide to stay on my ps3. I would like some of the features my 360 does to also be on the ps3. The XMB is extremely slow, and I would love to have this feature, instead of waiting 15-20 seconds for the xmb to load, then wait another 8 seconds just to go in my inbox for the messages to show up. PSN was a spur the moment thing…extremely tacked on. 5 years into psn’s life span it still doesn’t have the basics of other online services…….just saying bro.

Shouldn’t this be in ideas in action?

yh i agree, i hate waiting for the menu to load, then messages load and the message itself. make it happen bro. +1

435

xxThe_Fuhrer-xx  |  October 20th, 2011 at 7:43 pm

Couldn’t agree any better. I had a 360 for a couple of years and now I have a PS3. Having this auto read message will be awesome cause it does take a while to load the XMB

436

mitcho2013  |  October 22nd, 2011 at 11:35 pm

This isn’t really a problem for me, since i just wait til I can pause the game or finish the multiplayer game to read it.

Twilight947  |  October 31st, 2011 at 8:50 am

This is an amazing idea I would love if Sony does this. I would find it very useful and helpful for me.

Long Live Play!

LazyShady  |  November 14th, 2011 at 8:42 pm

Im guessing the Down votes are xbox fans, cuss i dont see a reason why there shouldnt be this feature.

439

440

soulless94  |  November 15th, 2011 at 5:31 pm

this is a reasonable idea, but also of course the option to turn this feature off if we decide it annoys us (not sure why i mention that as it would make sense, but just making sure about it)

441

DualShock73  |  November 24th, 2011 at 5:38 am

Yep, one of the most convenient ideas Sony could implement with this generation of the PSN.

442

BeatTrixs  |  November 28th, 2011 at 10:49 pm

I think is there should be a option to turn it on and off. Because I wouldn’t want that

443

Sangetsu-II  |  December 14th, 2011 at 4:16 pm

They should add this, It would make reading a message that you just received so much easier while in-game.

444

ZeroUnderOne  |  December 23rd, 2011 at 5:04 pm

Man… why hasn’t this happened yet?

445

samuelthekiller  |  December 25th, 2011 at 7:40 pm

yea and that u need to 2x tap the ps button

446

nomad_77_  |  January 1st, 2012 at 4:13 am

Yeah, the current interface os time consuming and can really take away from a game. This would be really cool. :)

447

Kyle_9100  |  January 15th, 2012 at 10:37 am

I dont see why they cant do it. XMB does take a really really really realy really really really painfully long time to load

448

deadkyo  |  January 30th, 2012 at 7:27 pm

I’m really hoping for this to be implemented soon.

449

IceColdKilla44  |  February 4th, 2012 at 6:56 pm

Almost 2 years later and it’s still not implemented? Come on, Sony…

KeNtUkYs_WiLdCaT  |  February 23rd, 2012 at 9:36 pm

yes it is annoying to hit the ps button and wait for the xmb to load but i have games that just hitting the ps button wont pause it which have this auto feature would be a big pain
