Iv been a fan of the socom series ever scince socom 1 came out in 02 and spent countless hours online all through the series up until socom 4 which turned me away very quickly. All im saying is that i hope they are listening and are decent enough to give us fans deserved feedback to wether or not they intend to make this so we know where we stand. made lots of friends on socom that i still play with today

Find a way to stop the cheaters and create a map pack for confrontation bring back some old maps would be fine. And find a new game mode. A different mission type.

I do not understand why SONY thinks that they will not make money on this. Price the game at the same amount as any other game on the market. $59.99 give or take. This game would sell EASILY over 500,000 probably even break a million. Its no COD record, but for the amount of work, not having to build the game from scratch, you guys would make a fortune. It would sure as hell cost less, then releasing SOCOM 4 and keeping up with DLC, and updates, plus server maintenance. Lobbies, Clan System, updated graphics. done deal

Recently, I had been thinking of getting a PS2 and copies of the old SOCOMs, but a little research online informed me that all the old PS2 servers are now offline So….. we REALLY need this!!! That said, all of the HD remakes so far have excluded the online functions from the original games. I guess they believe it too time-consuming. If this will be the case for any SOCOM remake, then bugger it, just give us Confrontation 2! I don’t wanna play Confrontation for the rest of the current generation of consoles, and I don’t buy into all the stupid cash-cow franchises like BF & CoD. The novelty of this generation has worn off very quickly for me

remake socome 1,2 or 3 dont care add co-op fix a few bugs and done.
if you made this i would preorder it right now and be standing in line on release date
oh and zipper you really need to fire those 3 yr olds you have working for you that is releasing this crap you call games i played better games on snes just yesterday socom 4 wasnt even worth the 10 dallers i shelled out for it no classic view who played socom that did not use it i mean really and new features that dont work come on
i own a ps3 with socom confrontation thats it i paid 400 dallers for a ps3 for 1 game and so did my friends so why do you not think there is no money to be made. well in that case sell socom 1,2 and 3 to microsoft and ill get rid of this ps3 paper waight

VOTE YES! This game was a classic from Crossroads Demolition to Fox Hunt Extraction Medley. This game was way better than any Call of Duty titles handsdown. Any former Socom play will pay anything to see this game again with no cheaters. I used to come home everyday from school and turn on my ps2 just to play Socom 2 US NAVY SEALS. Please bring this back please

As a true hardcore SOCOM II fan I refuse to buy any SOCOM games after confrontation this confirmed to me that the franchise was ruined. If Zipper wants to make a run and gun shooter with any type of respawn they will never get the sales that COD has I would much rather play COD than SOCOM’s version of COD which is what SOCOM 4 is. What made SOCOM II different was the game play, but not only that but the people who played it. You don’t need to communicate in these run and gun games, you don’t need tactics all you need to do is run around and shoot, there are a lot of other games that I can buy that will be better than SOCOMS version. The clan battles were the best part of SOCOM the comradery between clan members. I was a member of a clan for a year and a half and became pretty good friends with all of those guys and even if we were not playing but just talking I have yet to have that aspect of game play in any other. Bring back socom II the exact way it was and quit trying to improve it. keep it simple do not add all of these attachments and new guns. We want to complain about the IW as being a newb gun.

Remember the good ol’ days? fish hook, desert glory, frost fire, death trap, abandon, sandstorm, blood lake, etc… keep the maps make the lobbys the same, same weapons, same everything, you can’t please everyone and yeah there will be people saying well just change this or just this… well then what you get is SOCOM 4. Yeah the graphics may be outdated, who cares? yeah pmn mines sucked but it was hilarious when you watched your buddy run over one at the end of a round. Bring back socom II and don’t change a thing except for maybe HD. After the release of socom 3 the SOCOM community is now diluted accross multiple different SOCOM versions ie socom 3, confrontation, combined assault, and Socom 4. This happened because we were all hoping for that SOCOM game that was supposed to be the sequel to SOCOM II and it never happened. All we lost was our community.

I met my clan in 2003 when SOCOM II came out and we are still friends today… you do the math… that’s how awesome SOCOM II was and how tight the community was back then. You have no idea how much this will revitalize the franchise.

The thing that really hurts the socoms after 2 is way to much customization from armor to scopes grips bipods and weight . Thats stuff just ruined the flow .we loved the simple load outs . Also the 16v16 just didn’t pan out . 8v8 is perfect and socom 2 maps were the best .

I loathe S4 and Confrontation. I am a vet from the day Socom 1 hit the shelf.I remember when the Codebreakers came and tried to ruin,but I still played…Tens of thousands logged on daily..By Socom 2,hundred of thousands..You log on to Confrontation or S4 and you see the same screen names about 5-10 times a night. The franchise is dead because these developers didn’t want to keep their million+fans,but wanted to try to cater to a new audience.You traded a million+ for maybe 5000. Wow,you must be a moron if you cannot do that kind of math.

I have also been a Socom fan since day 1. I have owned every one of them and found my Socom II the other day and was like man those were the days! I have never had so much fun on ANY other game in my life than I had on Socom II. Although I am still a hardcore fan and play Socom 4 which has parts I like and parts I do not. Point being Socom II was the pinnacle of competitive online gaming for me and many many others and we all feel kind of left in the rain and not only with 4 but any other shooter as well. I would even be willing to pay monthly for that amount of fun again. Socom II HD is very needed.

je parle pour la communauté francaise et europeen nous aussi on veut un socom digne de ce nom .je n arrive pas a comprendre sony qui n a toujours pas fais un geste pour notre communauté de la premiere heure du jeu en reseau sur console .a croire que sony se fout de nous tous .et Zipper n as rien compris en sortant socom4 ils ecoutent pas les conseils des fans SONY et ZIPPER bouge ton cul.
I speak for the French and European community we too want a socom worthy of the name. No I can not understand that Sony did not always do something for our community for the first time on console gaming network. to believe that Sony does not care about us. and Zipper n got a clue when leaving socom4 they listen to the advice of fans SONY aND ZIPPER move your ass

This is needs to happen…I have been a strong advocate for a Socom I/II based Socom since Socom 3. All Socom I/II fans/players have wanted since the time of Socom 3 was Socom II with more maps, skins, weapons, improved hit detection, reduced lag, and better anti-cheat protection. If the series could grab this again they would retake a large part of the market it used to hold. I can’t tell you how sad it makes me to see so many features (including game modes!!) lost or completely changed since Socom 3.

I recently have seen what they did for Halo Anniversary. If they did something even remotely close to this for Socom II I would buy it in a heart beat. As it is, since Socom 3 came out I have drifted from shooter to shooter comparing each to Socom I/II and none of them stand up to what Socom I/II had.

If Socom 2 was put on the PSN for download and for online play I would start to cry with joy. Just dont change the game at all unless you want to put in a clan battle system =) I love how socom 2 was not a respawn game. Makes for better tactics then just waiting around corners wondering if people are going to spawn up behind you.

yeah those were the good old socom days..I remember waking up in early in the morning to play our gamebattles match LOL..I started on Socom II…made some friends and join a clan 16waystoDie/Elixer… Great Friends I made were AirDetail/Niz/hexstylee/RezDog…and many more..but it all ended once Socom 3 came out…people swimming WTF..please bring back socom 2

So right now approximately 11500 people have voted yes for this game. I have by far logged more hours on Socom I and II than any other games. Hell, a different game hardly even touched my PS2 during that time. I bought the HDD for my PS2 just for the Socom II maps. Well worth it in my opinion. I recent came across the Final Fantasy game that came with it.. never even opened haha.

My point is so far this has approximately 11500 votes. I know this is just the fraction of the community that wants a Socom II HD remake. Most of my old clan mates don’t even visit these forums. It was all about Socomclans.net then gamebattles and we used AIM. If this was available there would be a huge interest. To date no game has lived up to Socom II or the experience it brought. It balanced realism with “video game” to create the most addictive and fun online shooter game of all time.

Sony and Zipper, listen to us!!

Metal gear solid series was remastered in HD and sold for 60$.. IF socom was remastered in HD i feel the entire socom community would jump on board the first day. Many fans are speaking out. It would be extremely foolish for Zipper to not remaster something that their loyal fans hold so dearly to their heart. The old socoms are better tactical shooters then the current shooters today. Bring the real socoms back.

Perhaps Sony / Zipper is worried that no one would bother buying another shooter if Socom 1/2 was re-released?

The only reason Socom 1 came out of my PS2 was because Socom 2 was released. The only reason Socom 2 came out of my PS2 was because Socom 3 was released. The many reasons Socom 3 came out of my PS2 because it was a drastic departure from the series roots.

OK Sony, I get it. If you release Socom 1/2 again I PROMISE to buy one of your stupid, skilles, OCD twitch shooters like COD.
