SOCOM II – Took teamwork.. practice.. skill.. knowledge of the maps and gameplay.. This game provided its players with great entertainment off of a simple operating system with minimal graphics and design. All Socom II needed was some simple upgrades such as :
1. New Maps every 3 -6 Months
2. Reduced lag
3. Better hit detection
4. No Glitches/Cheater
5. Balanced Weapons/ Add new weapons

These 5 simple changes can turn one of the Best games in the world back around again toping the charts over the stupid Call of Duty

We want strategy teamwork and Adrenaline rushes!!.. Not re-spawn run and die over and over.

The only reason i can see why people would vote this down is because they dont like games that take some time and effort to become a good player at. To you games like Socom II are frustrating because its a game of skill and strategy and it takes some time to grasp and become a great player, but the harder you work at something the more satisfying it is when you achieve your goal as a TOP GAMER. Please to not be ignorant and vote it down because you are satisfied with the game you have now, and especially if u have never played Socom II before you should not even be commenting on this page at all. You’ll look and sound like an idiot.

SOCOM II FANS love a game where it takes skill teamwork and strategy because to them when they “WAR” or beat another team it means that the handwork they put in had paid off and its more of an adrenaline rush.. and isnt that the reason why we play video-games anyway!? for the “high” or adrenaline rush.

A few days ago Sony announced that they are closing down Zipper Interactive. Because since they made the 3rd socom until 2012 they have not been making any money so that means they are bankrupt. I think Sony should give Zipper one last chance. They should make the socom 1 and 2 HD collection with trophies to release on a disk like the god of war collection. If Sony lets Zipper interactive make the socom collection they can make some money from it and maybe make on more socom in the coming future.

The fact that numerous remakes with only 200 votes or less are being done and this one isn’t despite being the most requested HD remake on blogshare with 11k positive votes just goes to show that the concept of blogshare is an epic failure. It also shows Jack Buser if full of crap when he says “tell us what you want” on here as if they really give to craps what the fans want. Just hollow PR lines to say “hey, we listen to fanbase” which carries no weight.

Socom 1 was awesome, Socom 2 was hands down the best, Socom 3 was okay at first, and aftet that they started to go more and more downhill. The Demand is here! I would literaly pay whatever they charged for this game, and then there’s the dlc maps, which is even more money. Whe’re longing for the original maps, with that socom 2 run and gun style gameplay. The last thing we want is another COD type game with over the shoulder view, that horrible repetitive COD feel and then for Sony to stamp “SOCOM” on the box.

At this point, S2 HD should be a PS4 launch title. If anything, they should at least put the game on the ps store as a PS2 download with the online functionality.

Socom as a whole has been legendary, at least from 1-3, the GOW collection made bank money for sony and how many games are there out there that have almost the same type of gameplay as GoW? Too many. And how many games out there have the same type of gameplay as SOCOM 1, 2 or 3? None. That there in its entirety, should be well reason enough that making a remade, better graphics, hd version of SOCOM 2 with out a doubt. For one, all, and I mean ALL, SOCOM fan would buy it the first day it came out, on top of all the other players in the worls that are tired of nearly every single new shooter that comes out is just a copy if CODs franchise.

This is without a doubt a poll that without question, should be well known to be a definite yes, to all SOCOM fans and those who are totally burned out of the COD gameplay.

Socom II is where it all started for me, Take socom II the same maps, guns, and skins, and put it out there. The only improvment i can think of without changing the game is maybe add some new character skins for both seals and terrorist. I hate the weapon unlock system, you should be able to pick any weapon you want right from the start. Zipper please here these request and take them into consideration. We the people want Socom II for PS3 even if its multiplayer only thats ok!! thank you for reading this looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with….peace!!

-Lobbies would have made a world of a difference.

-Lose the “xp” ranking & go back to S2 chess formula type based on wins & your role (which was by far the best IMO)

-Original game modes (Esc, Ext, Brch, Demo) & add Bomb Squad

-Maps from all Socoms (CR, DG, NS, Blood Lake, Death Trap, Harv, Waterworks, Killing Fields, Afterhours, ext…)

-Map rotation ( no map voting)

-16vs16 classic mode (like S3)

Those features would have made this game too too much fun. I can play it now, but with those added things, wouldn’t be able to put it down.

I agree with you on everything except 2 things.

Map rotation, maybe this is what you ment. use classic lobbies with rooms where you pick the maps so if you want just crossroads or frostfire or Desert Glory you can.

if that is what you mean then never mind on that issue i agree.

16V16 on the other hand i don’t agree. Classic socom was smaller tactical maps 8v8. when they introduced 16v16 on socom 3 the maps were too big. when it comes down to 1v1 too many draws. Small tactical maps is what was the better choice.

i like the rest would love to see this happen,but after taking a step back and asking my self why all the others weren’t as successful as the first 2 titles?!1 logical reason maybe sony knows alot of this titles fanbase would be addicted once again..playing this title day in day out as we did with the classic..remember that fellas,but then since socom 3 and CA this title even with senior producer since socom 1 seth luisi has given socom games that wer nothing like the first 2..noticed that?Anyways my point being maybe sony dont want us to have it this good again,cause alot of us would never purchase anthing from sony store or any other title in this genre and take a loss even from the gain we see them having..anyways my brothers..thats just another perspective im looking at this as to why our game and this title has crashed and burned over the years..but I voted up for it anyways..maybe we will get lucky one day!

Myself and my clan (that formed during SOCOM 2 and has been together ever since) would LOVE to see this become reality, I don’t think we would avoid other games if this were to come out, but it would be a great alternative on those weekends when you just get tired of playing BF3 and COD

I voted this up, but i would much rather prefer a Socom Legacy(Socom 1-3) mash up. Maps, customizable weapons, “Terrorists vs SEALs” not mercenaries, etc. This game would be a CASH COW. 3.44 million copies sold from one game alone. Imagine a game like this getting praised? twitter and facebook would spread the word so fast.$$$$$$$$

YES. But I dont even own a ps3 anymore. I got rid of it because its obvious to me now, That sony is the retarded nephew of Xbox now. We sat around begging for Socom 1 and 2 for years now, and they have done nothing to give the fans what they want. they dont even look at these “share” files. And if you notice, but of the “shares” or “ideas” are just things that are on the xbox. So I recommend you all just give up on Sony, Zipper, Slant 6. They didnt care at all when Socom 1 and 2 became overran by “Code 9″ cheating software. They just wanted you to buy socom 3 and confrontations and all the other garbage that followed. its all about that money. So yea… Fk sony

Hi I’m new to this thread after only seeing it a few days ago.I am a huge socom 2 fan and would love to re-live the days of playing it and in a way I kind of am!
This is just a thought but maybe were barking up the wrong tree here and should maybe try and get more out of socom confrontation (which by the way is the closest any game has come to socom 2 and got heavily criticised which I thought was harsh)
The game engine is already in place and graphically is far better than a hd remake would be so all it really needs is another 2 map packs containing all the missing levels from socom 2 (sujo,enowapi,rats nest,sandstorm,bitter jungle,blood lake,ruins,fox hunt,sand storm,the mixer,fish hook,abandoned) introduce a few new weapons and hey presto!! We have socom 2 again!!!!
So should we hit up slant 6 and petition sayin we would pay good money to see that (which im sure would cost less than a full hd remake)

IMO S2 was and still is the best online game EVER. Still no game compares and every online game that was released after Socom II was and still is a disappointment. Socom II set the bar extremely high and no game has ever reached this level to date. Online gaming needs this, if Sony wants any chance of netting a profit they would strongly consider releasing S2 HD. I wouldn’t hesitate to pay 30$ or even 40$ for it.

One other thing. People bringing up Socom 3 and combined assault aren’t real S2 veterans. All the Socoms after Socom II sucked. Can’t believe people are asking for anything from S3 or CA. Please just Socom II HD with not changes so there is no risk that it gets messed up. Thanks!
