I understand there may be legal issues with this.
One way to go around it is to team up with youtube or something of that sort, where you can upload video to youtube, and then stream those hosted video in playstation home.
Either way, I still vote for this =)

If there are legal issues with this, it’s something Sony should have realized before advertising it as a feature for Home a year before the Beta even launched. From the very first video of Home ever shown publicly, this feature was touted, and years later it still isn’t implemented.

redheadedoljamie | March 17th, 2010 at 4:08 pm
I agree, I would love this feature cause I move around a lot and my friend from back home could still watch our old shows and talk about them. It would be nice.

I would be more likely to watch The Tester and purchase the products which support the show through advertising if I could watch it with my PSN friends in my HOME apartment.

OK I hope sony reads this comment really because there is a simple solution for some of the legality. All you do is before someone wants to stream movies and etc in their home for their home friends to watch with them. just have them agree to some kind of “codes of conduct” simply stating the video they are bout to stream is of their own work and not copy righted in any way. (same thing limewire does when you start downloading music. ) that way they cannot be held responsible for whatever takes place in the “home” or w.e.

DWilson8504 | March 17th, 2010 at 11:12 pm
Yeah and listen to music the same way too
10
Ostaf52 | March 17th, 2010 at 11:38 pm
Yes this way when I am out and about in the world I can still enjoy a movie with my family and or significant other that I am forced to spend time away from.
11
GreyWulf | March 18th, 2010 at 3:13 am
yep i have been asking for this since they said we would have it back in 2005.
12
StefNighthawk | March 18th, 2010 at 5:07 am
Probably not possible due to copyright issues. “private viewing-only”
13
NoobianGod | March 18th, 2010 at 6:50 am
I REALLY want to see this one come to pass.
14
kNoWlEdGe22 | March 18th, 2010 at 10:59 am
If I could do this… I would use HOME A LOT more often… it’d be great for people who live in different places (cross country or in a different country even) from some of their friends and would like to spend some time watching a movie with them for example…
15
lobo_joe | March 18th, 2010 at 2:32 pm
i posted almost the same idea. when you rent or purchase from the store it be nice to share them in home in your personal space
16
canadianstryker | March 18th, 2010 at 3:05 pm
yup, this is a need.
17
Wolfram23 | March 18th, 2010 at 5:03 pm
This would be cool, although my friends don’t use Home and I only tried it long enough to be disapointed.

Blackxino | March 18th, 2010 at 9:45 pm
WTF?
Get the f…out of your basement and go out with your friends.
a stupid feature Xbox 360 has.
and I don’t know why 1000 users voted for this uselessness.
If you want to watch movies with friend, go out with them and go watch it at cinema or their home (your home).

JAM_GAM | March 19th, 2010 at 1:24 am
@Blackxino
Whoa! Calm down, this idea is not stupid, I have friends and family that live pretty far from me yet they have PS3s so it would be nice to watch a movie together whether it is through voice/video chat or through home, or both!
Imagine that you have a friend that lives in a different state, yet that friend has a PS3 like you do, well you guys talk it over through chat and decide to watch a movie that , let’s say, is on your PS3′s hard drive or on a DVD or BD that is in your PS3, well then the video and audio is streamed over the internet to your buddy allowing you two to watch the same movie at the same time while chatting, kinda cool huh?

KillerDante | March 19th, 2010 at 5:38 am
Yes I got a couple of friends that I like watching movies with and talking crap, they recently moved so its difficult to get in one spot and watch them. I loved the idea they had when they first talked about home about including this. Would be awesome if I could see things that natively play on the PS3 onto a wall on my Home Space or even if its netflix or the movies you download from the psn video store.

Wells_Jetty | June 3rd, 2010 at 4:51 pm
This is the number one thing I’ve always wanted from HOME and it was promised from the beginning, in the trailer a year before HOME even came out, yet they still haven’t done it. Anger over this is the number one reason I almost never use HOME, out of spite. Yet I could be converted to a user, if they’d just give us this long-promised feature. Music players too!
34
spideyal | June 18th, 2010 at 2:06 am
Isn’t this one of the things they talked about? Why the hell don’t they have this yet?
I should be able to buy a virtual TV in Home, then share videos from my harddrive with anyone who visits it. Just like they do with Photos/Picture Frames.

Pazz | June 25th, 2010 at 10:26 am

I would love this!!
Everyone bump !!

Finaldeath1689 | July 5th, 2010 at 12:15 am
I agree, at least let us stream game trailers. Would be great for game personal spaces where you have it decked out with all stuff related to that game, to also have the games trailer running.

thatswatshesaid2 | July 8th, 2010 at 6:20 pm
ID ACTUALLY PLAY HOME!!
38
Jut420 | July 20th, 2010 at 11:19 am
This would definately get people to visit HOME more often. I know I’d use HOME everyday if it had a feature like this as I rent a lot of movies off the store. I’d love to watch some movies with my brother who lives across the country.

SonsOfMonroe | July 23rd, 2010 at 7:06 pm
Well People This Feature May Happen 1 Day. But Do You Reaallly Think That They’re Gonna Let Us Use The Tv’s We Already Have Instead Of Charging Us For Newer Tv’s ? We Have Pictures Yes Because Our Pictures Aren’t Copyrighted Media. Now Here Comes The Part Most Of You Don’t Want To Hear…………..They May Charge Us A Fee To Stream All This Ish. Who Knows Just A Thought……….

herekitty | October 19th, 2010 at 5:00 pm
I would use Home if this was an option. A great way to get together with friends who live in different states, or even different countries.
42
S1LENTK1ILLA | November 11th, 2010 at 5:36 pm
I would love this!!! Then I would want to decorate my Apartment/Crib with more items such as buying Big screen tv’s, projector’s etc…. Playstation could make so much more money on the PSHome because people like myself would want to pimp out your crib
43
Gamer_Matt97 | December 16th, 2010 at 10:11 pm
well that is a epic idea but u know how long the home developers to take on such a huge project like that
44
demonnails | February 10th, 2011 at 7:39 pm
When will we be able to chat with our friends while I watch Netflix and my friend plays call of duty. When?
45
SnakePlissken2K | February 24th, 2011 at 7:11 am
Totally agree with this, should of had it from the start of Hollywood Hills Home Space!!! Very sure its possible and it would make Home a better experience!
Not to mention people either buying or renting off of PSN to have a movie night. More money $$$ Playstation!
Sure, it would be better to just slap in a Blu Ray and show the contents to your friends…if possible?!
46
SpeedyGnat88 | February 24th, 2011 at 9:14 am
Ditto………I agree totally. I do think they are trying to work their way there tho……….slooowly!
I heard it was some copywrite issue, but if ppl bought or rented from PSN I don’t understand what the problem would be!
Maybe someday……

basketball27 | March 2nd, 2011 at 12:58 pm
This is a great idea and was promised ever since the reveal of Home. I thought it was awesome that you could play music with your friends or watch tv or put posters up on the wall. I’d also like pool tables and arcade machines for your apartment as well, that would be sweet
48
midnightangel666 | May 29th, 2012 at 11:47 am
I think this should be available in the Clubhouse too. Would be awesome if all my gamer friends could come on PSH and meet up in the club house and stream netflix movies so we could all watch. That would be awesome!
