I think a better browser altogether would be nice, but Java and Flash are really a good start.

The current ps3 browser is a much lamer version of Iphones Safari Browser.

I can do more on that browser..and faster LOL

I think its just that Sony needs to have someone create an internet browser that fully takes advantage of the PS3. Look at the iPod Touch and iPhone. They can run almost any website easily. Why can’t the PS3? I think they need to have Google or Mozilla create an internet browser that takes advantage of what the PS3 has.

but the upgrade would make ps3 actually run the blog properly again and make regular youtube and abunch of other sites work properly

The whole browser needs to be re-worked. Its a very poorly implemented function on the unit.

Up to date flash support and java runtime environment would definately help though.

I dont understand why Sony has this ad campaign that says “It Only Does Everything” and yet the web browser is so archaic that its practically useless.

YES YES YES, I’ve been trying to suggest this for 2 days now, no wonder they kept turning me down. I’ve tried time and time again to watch tv episodes on actual tv websites like abc, nbc, etc.. I’ve also tried watching at Hulu and Sling and those fail most if not all the time too. They never brought up this suggestion when I;d search “Flash” – wonder why??? hmm..

My main reason for wanting this is that almost all TV on demand services either don’t have their full capabilities utilised (HD) or just don’t work at all.

Don’t really care about adding full java support but actually usable javascript would be nice (ajax, etc)… its soooo slow now.

Also Flash 10 would be excellent.

I would love better flash support so I can watch other flash video sites besides youtube. Neither Revision3 nor Cnet actually work on the PS3. There a bunch of others. The only flash site that seems to work is Youtube (and barely).

YES!!! For the love of god update the frimware too make us happy i mean really were the customers that means a few things for sony in the future. From experience and seeing frist hand sony doesn’t like us but were the cash holder with out the customers in UK-US and so on they will dry up make very much less money. I know sony won’t read this or even care its said but like i said before piss off the customers there will be less sell in the future because we all know we’ll be treated horribly for most money is hard to get and worked hard for we’ll remember the hateful acts and never buy anything sony made again. So please sony listen have a heart for once please update the ps3 browser with html5 with adobe flash 10. As well in the update allow us to download adobe flash updates are self. I mean come on what will it hurt to be able to use the internet, why did you even add a browser if you couldn’t even update property i think its bull and selfish of sony to downgrade us in the mudd with out anything good!!!!!

sounds solid. I have a friend with no computer, but a ps3. So he uses the Ps3 for internet surfing alot of the time when he’s not playing it. I’m sure there are more like him around the world. Would be great great great.

Sony should just make so that you can download the lastest Flash update because currently, you need a fully supported browser. The old PS3s could do this because of the “install other OS” feature.

I purchased my ps3 as a replacement for a computer cause we only need to do e-mail and my online banking and myspace(none of which work properly). I have been very disappointed by the web browser! Half of websites tell me need to update java. What is the problem here? Why doesn’t it just work? Only does everything my left foot.

Add upgradeable processor support, user chosen browser, and based on the Windows(R) OS so we could install our own FLASH and Java players. I mean really. Do things really have to be THAT complicated? I guess only if you want to own all the rights exclusively to SCEA motherboards’ capabilities and downfalls. Seems to me that user feedback is useless. UPDATE the FLASH PLAYER!

I always thought it would be cool if Sony worked with Kongregate or Newgrounds to make their libraries of flash games available for free on the PS3. They would need to work together to enable the controller with the games.

It would be like an endless supply of Minis. If they did it without ads and had support for the controller, it might work as a (cheap) subscription service. Though free would be better for us gamers.

I don’t understand how people disagree on the most best things ever. This would make almost every one worldwide want to buy this system if this was to ever happen which I don’t think will happen. Sadly Sony can’t prove that this system Only Does Everything.
Also the Internet Browser needs to be fixed.
Google search glitch, Youtube search not responsive, and Wiki.

what we really need is a totally new browser that can update itself .

Sony has pretty much abandoned the regular psn now and said all future improvements will be for playstation+ only so I don’t expect any updated browser unless you subscribe .
