Replace the bluray logo by the logo of the game

Idea 4510 | Posted in by | March 18, 2010

It would be prettier if the bluray logo was replaced by the logo of the game (the one which only appears when selected)…

A small change I really wouldn’t notice.

I think what they mean, is the game folder with the blue ray disk logo. Which you have to hover over for 5 seconds to get the game logo ?

..i think changing logo…is not really that necessary.

Whatever you are talking about, it sounds pretty pointless.

He means that each game should have an unique icon on the XMB that appears under “Game”, instead of a BRD logo. And no. It’s pointless.

I actually prefer that the Blu-Ray disc icon (that is NOT the Blu-Ray LOGO) shows up until you hover over it for a second, because it makes the game you inserted easier to find at a glance on the screen.

I wouldn’t want a whole software update for that, but if it came with some meaningful features, why not?

Hey, how long does it take for a idea to get moderated?

This is so pointless and unneeded, that I really don’t see the point. It just indicates there’s a game disk present, and if you highlight, after 2 seconds, the actual game icon WILL appear anyways.

NOT a big issue.

oh I see what they mean, subtle change, but there is bigger fish to fry first

That’s pretty useless. It takes like a couple of seconds for the game or movie title to show up.

I’m pretty sure that delay is there because the PS3 has to load that data from the disc. It might be possible to add an “install this game’s icon to harddrive” feature… but meh.

It would not be a bad thing for this to happen but this to me has no real purpose.

Not Really Helpful or Important.

I feel sorry for the guy who posted this. The only reason it got so many thumbs down is because nothing else has been uploaded in the last few hours.

That doesn’t really do anything…

Wow, so many stupid people here.

When you put in a BlueRay movie do you want to see the BlueRay icon or an icon of the movie you’ve inserted. I’d rather the movie icon so I know what is in the drive.

@NekedFaerie

Stupid people, huh? The OP is talking about game discs, not Blu-Ray movies. They want the generic disc icon which shows for a few seconds before the full-screen game title screen appears to be changed to the Blu-Ray icon.

Read before you start throwing names around.

Not necessary, not wanted or needed.

The way it is is the way it should be. Please don’t make this change, Sony.

P_dump: Apparently they’re moderated BEFORE they’re posted. I honestly have no idea why they let this one slip through, but haven’t even posted the genuinely good idea that I submitted several hours ago.

I agree, this is an awesome idea.
