RSS Feed Support

Idea 4189 | Posted in , by | March 18, 2010

It would be nice to have RSS feed support on the PS3 to read news and to stream or download podcasts. Also if this feature were added, it should have a auto download timer like the PSP has.

Another feature that the PSP has had for months/years, but still hasn’t arrived on the PS3.

The PS3 should be able to do anything the PSP can do.

Good idea, and yeah I second that PS3 should be doing most of what its little brother already can… Seems like the two departments that handle these machines don’t even talk except for the XMB being common.

Most Wanted, especially since there are HD RSS feeds out there.

Having automatic downloads of podcasts (video especially) would make the PS3 a contender for the ultimate machine in the living room – many tv stations is beginning to make programming available as podcasts, having these automatically arrive on the PS3 would change the way many people consume tv.

I use Google Reader in the ps3 browser to store my rss feeds. I would love to have this feature though.

With Home getting a community playhouse, this idea really needs to happen. People could get alerts to new podcast video showings.

The Wii’s Internet Channel supports RSS feeds, and the PSP has an RSS Channel, so there’s really no reason the PS3 can’t do both.
