Seeing Sony show more interest in creating RPGs for the PS3, whether outsourcing to independent studios, or creating a studio of their own devoted to producing RPGs.

When you think of it, playstation used to be the RPG console. I wouldn’t say that we should get rid of other game type, but I think Sony should get back is RPG console king title. Even if those game aren’t exclusive.

I want more Western style RPGs. A mmorpg would be nice. What about SOE?

Legend of Dragoon remake.
I would say more but really, that sums it up.
OH I CAN SAY MORE!
Final Fantasy X and X-2 on one Blu-Ray disc with updated textures and trophies.
I would mention the off-again-on-again FF7 remake–but I lost hope in it.

It’s pretty sad just how little SONY gives a damn when it comes to RPGs, these days… It’s one of my favourite genres…

Suikoden 1&2 are my favorite PS1 games.
Suikoden V is my favorite PS2 game.
Konami, please give us Suikoden VI to the PS3!

Suikoden 2 and 5 : excellent
3 : who could forget little Thomas
4 : forgetable
Yes , bring back the classics (Azure Dreams, Breath of Fire, Alundra, Tales of Destiny) and throw in a few originals.
Perhaps they could be made in 2.5 D with an HD overcoat to keep costs down.

yeah we need more Rpgs if Sony doesn’t want to do it they can always get BioWare!! Or Bethesda to make it,also a MMO would be cool on the ps3.Best Rpg so far this Gen imo Bioware’s Dragon Age,that game rules.

Personally more RPG’s are an excellent thing, especially now that PS3 is once again becoming the RPG console of choice just like the PS2 with Kick A** exclusive titles. It would also be nice to see some remakes of classics like Legend of Dragoon, Vagrant Story, Saga Frontier, as well as remakes like Final Fantasy VII(Square don’t lie to us theres enough proof you’ve been remaking this game for 3 years.) Final Fantasy VIII & Final Fantasy IX.
Please ask Square to remake Final Fantasy X for the Playstation 4. That would be greatly appreciated.

More fantastic RPGs like Final Fantasy would be good.
I just have bought the PS3 because i thought, there would be more cool RPGs then on the Xbox360, but its not.
So make more RPGS! Exklusive RPGS!^^

RPGs are admittedly my favourite type of game and I’ve always envisoned a massively open and multiple choice RPG. After seeing the open space of ‘Just Cause’ I hope to see something similar in any future RPG, please Mr Sony:-)

Sony should do one of the following.
*Create a studio dedicated to making RPGs.
*Have one of their current studios make an RPG.
*Outsource a RPG
*Publish RPGs in NA

What i want to see are more “real” jrpg games. (like final fantasy 10) I can’t stand the last few final fantasy games because of the new controls they are using, i want the ff10 controls back.

I think rpgs are pretty outdated, its been a long time since I played one that I found interesting. I think the best bet for the future of rpgs is to add rpg elements to other game styles, but pure rpgs are obsolete (FFXIII proved that)

WRPG is doing pretty fine right now.
What we need is a quality JRPG with high budget, not the one with PS1 graphics.
FFXIII is a tactical action game, by the way.

RPG’s were the reason for me getting a ps2. This would be a bonus for me for getting a ps3 this christmas.

It’s a horrible loop. RPGs have largely not adapted to new generations of gaming. Hence, they started sucking. Hence, people stopped buying them. Hence, developers made less of them. Hence, less overall RPGs means less good RPGs. Hence, even less people buy them. Hence. Hence. Hence.

RPGs have actually adapted too much to new generations of gaming. They have drifted away from the core gameplay styles that RPG fans expect and enjoy. They keep trying to “mix in some action” and end up making bad RPGs that also fail as action games. As a fan of multiple genres it’s easy to see when mixing them results in a bad product.
Chocolate + Peanut Butter = Win, but Chocolate + Steak = Fail.
