You obviously have no concept of how expensive platinum is.
A mere OUNCE of Platinum can cost around $1,000.
Not only does this idea lack any research at all, but it’s pointless.

Common guys, don’t be silly. He obviously meant one that LOOKS like a platinum trophy. Maybe even a charm for a necklace or something.
They could make one out of some cheap metal and sell it, just like how other companies do for their products (eg. Final Fantasy).

This is a good idea, maybe give you a $10 figurine based on the platinum trophy. Instead I think sony should do an award type thing for the top 3 trophy earners and send them something really special and do an article about them on the blog. They must know who it is on their servers though we dont have access to the leaderboard.

how do they make money off of it ? nothing is free .
if showing fake trophies off appeals to you go to a store that makes them and buy one .
actual trophies are for real world achievements , not virtual ones .
