Idea 11221 | Posted in by | April 2, 2010

LoD was a great game with a really fun battle system and pretty good story with an amazing world that needs to be further explored. Please make a sequel for the PS3.

Its amazing that people will thumbs down anything. It was a great title for its time and had stunning visuals. Why the hell would this get thumbs down. You just posted the idea… wow

I’m all for LoD 2 as long as its a prequel about the war between Winglies and Dragoons, preferably with a strong focus on Rose.

it’s amazing that I was trying to post this thread everyday for the past week, but it never was approved. I am glad it’s actually on Blog Share now. It’s a definite must sequel.

Greatest game in the world, please do this!

spideyal  |  April 4th, 2010 at 6:07 am

Ha, I’m glad I came across this.
I would LOVE to play another one of these games.

Except I’d rather it be a PSN Game with a smaller budget, so it can keep the same (but advanced in small ways) gameplay as the first game. I loved the “Combo” style combat in that game.

@5: Yeah, this is probably the second time that I’ve sent this in in the last week or 2. I’ve tried submitting a couple of ideas, but this is the first to be posted.

djnealb  |  April 5th, 2010 at 8:55 am

I’d also like to see them release the first game in the PSone classics, but only if they fix up some of the translations. There were so many bad typos and “Engrish” that it would sometimes take you out of the moment.

Nah, a sequel wouldn’t be wise given how long it’s been since the first released. A remake or reinvention of the series would be better.

Voted up either way.

I’ve got to be honest. LoD is one of my favorite all time games. I still own my ps1 copy and play it on my ps3. I have hoped for many years for a remake of this game. It would be awesome if it would come out for ps3. I can’t stand all these joke and rumor posts that keep getting my hopes up tho.

i hope sony comes to their senses about this game. it was awsome and theres a lot of people that would buy a sequel/ prequel of it. a remake would be pretty sweet too with all the better graphics we hav today. maybe add some new feature to the original. personally i say all of the above even though a sequal would be a lil more difficult to make than a prequel.

Shaker_878  |  April 17th, 2010 at 6:51 pm

A sequel would be EPIC!!! This is my favorite RPG, and I would love a sequel. Hope it happens!

14

InternatlGamer1  |  April 21st, 2010 at 6:43 pm

Remake the first & make the sequel both for the PS3. SCEJ that is what we all want.

15

ktheron45  |  April 23rd, 2010 at 5:37 pm

I agree with comment 14. A remake would bring attention to the game and allow new fans as well as old fans to become familiar with the story and style Legend of Dragoon. Then the sequel will have a better chance of being successful. A remake is the best idea.

Legend of dragoon 2 would be a great addition to the rpg series. I would only be worried about the gameplay, only to see if the creators keep the gameplay of legend of dragoon 1 and use that style of gameplay in legend of dragoon 2. Either way it would be awesome for it to happen. WITH the use of real dragons this time!! not sum wierd creatures, (unlike darts dragon) but the others were terrible for the dragon summon magic. IMO

shayne617  |  June 16th, 2010 at 11:17 pm

just wondering, how do we make this lod2 come true tho? i mean, only if we could talk to one of the game developers on this game, then it would be in progress for sure

18

djnealb  |  June 17th, 2010 at 10:34 am

shayne617: Wikipedia says the designer for the original was Yasuyuki Hasebe. I don’t know if he was the actual creator or director, but you can certainly try him. Other than that, I would just suggest pointing as many people as you know who also loved the game to this poll.

19

shayne617  |  June 17th, 2010 at 10:05 pm

oh thanks, yeah, some people I have talked to would buy legend of dragoon 2 if it were ever made. just because the ps3 needs a good rpg, and we all know this is the one for it.

GATXShinGundam  |  July 3rd, 2010 at 6:06 pm

I really would like to play new LoD with gameplay improvements and bigger world

21

firedragon82  |  July 8th, 2010 at 11:01 pm

it would be awesome for sony to remake this game

22

firedragon82  |  July 8th, 2010 at 11:03 pm

i didnt like the ending of LoD tho since it just left out a lot of info and the story wasnt continued

23

djnealb  |  July 10th, 2010 at 5:48 pm

@22: Yeah, it left itself pretty wide open for either a prequel or a sequel.

24

Doomfyre  |  July 30th, 2010 at 12:56 am

if they made another LoD you do not even realize how fast i would be buying that like if light and me were racing for the last copy light may be faster but id kick lights ass and rip the damn game out its hands

25

Sei-Crab  |  August 1st, 2010 at 4:38 pm

I would love to see a prequel , but a sequel would be awesome too. I would buy this LASER-fast

iTillyx  |  August 16th, 2010 at 2:27 pm

AMAZING GAME AND I REALLLY WANT A NEW ONE PLEASE :]

27

cab_1  |  August 16th, 2010 at 11:12 pm

Okay, Legend of the Dragoon, what can I say, this game was my first rpg, the graphics of its time was well rounded, the combat system was innovative and ahead of its time, sure the game had its ups and downs, but still the game was amazing and deserves either a come back or a prequel. In opinion the pros of this game has to be the graphics, the story, the combat system, and the characters. The cons has to be the lack of dragoon lvl progression bar or counter. Heck if i could i will keep typing and never stop on this game. I propose that we have a petition to further bring back this game :D

itddash  |  August 31st, 2010 at 10:02 am

my fav by far. i created an account just so i can add a vote… i dont even own a ps3 but if they put a sequel/prequel/remake id def buy one for it.

Tru_Threat_31  |  September 14th, 2010 at 9:07 pm

I played LOD a long time ago, when I was a lil nern in middleschool playing any rpg I could get my hands on.. I recently replayed LOD along with FFVII, FFVIII, Suikoden 2, and I will be playing xenogears starting tomorrow. All these games are amazing in their own way but LOD’s battle is the best cause it keeps you involved. Always wanted another one or two or 7 i would play them all..

30

dsnow0059  |  October 7th, 2010 at 10:57 am

I played LOD when I was a lot younger but I figured I would just forget about the game. Wrong, I still want a prequel or sequel as badly as I did when I first finished the game. If someone high up is reading this or someone can get this message through, please make another Legend of Dragoon. It would truly be a shame to let a true “legend” among games to end unfinished. (especially with the tons of money you would make off it)

Dragonejo  |  November 11th, 2010 at 9:34 pm

At this point, I’d take anything. A sequel, remake, prequel, anything as long as they revive it and do it well.

32

Massacre_901  |  November 30th, 2010 at 1:39 am

Im with post #31. A prequel would be good. All though T’d ratha have a remake and then a sequel… But beggers cant be choosers.

33

raven9066860  |  December 6th, 2010 at 9:07 pm

I wan’t to see this game with a prequel, remake, and a sequel. A sequel would suffice. I don’t own a playstation 3, but if Sony were to at least make a sequel I would buy one. It had a great story line, a great fighting system, and would be even better with the amped graphics of a PS3. If it sold nearly a million the first time where can they go wrong? Lots of die hard fans want this. Sony should quit wasting time with half the crappy games they do and go to something interesting.

34

ChefMaxwell1  |  December 12th, 2010 at 12:53 pm

this game was freaking great, why not make another one for ps3 and make it more awesome!!!!

I LOVED the game so much, i really hope they make a second one with better gameplay graphics, more abilites, and bigger maps.

37

gibsonguy92  |  January 12th, 2011 at 12:40 am

I’ve had the original for years and still play it today. Definitely in my top 5 games ever. A sequel/prequel would be amazing! Do it Sony!!

38

SyibR  |  February 1st, 2011 at 10:57 pm

One of the best game I ever played. Would love to have a sequel or prequel to the game. A definite to buy list.

39

Liondra  |  February 12th, 2011 at 3:24 pm

I was to young when i discovered Lod to buy it, never mind….some years ago, i bought it in a little store, just amazing.

But, we definitely need a Remake at least, with some improvement….like the ability to switch our addition ”in” combat

LoD Fan Forever

I loved that game, would buy a sequel/prequel day one. Probably would even buy a remake to help the series get going again.

44

Moony1989  |  March 30th, 2011 at 12:13 pm

I LOVE THIS GAME! I would play any addition they produced, but I am partial to a prequel, that was a my favorite part of the old game. Particularly the portion where Dart and Rose were in the cave and Rose recalled the last battle.

45

Julez_HB  |  April 1st, 2011 at 1:34 am

LOD 2 needs to happen, definitely one of the best RPG’s ever. Honestly, my opinion, LOD 2 should have been released instead of FFXIII, that was sub par in comparison to FF9, FF8, FF7 etc..

2 THUMBS UP HERE!

46

NiTeShAdE83  |  April 14th, 2011 at 1:32 am

Yes this needs to be made get it done Sony a sequel or a remake.

47

NiTeShAdE83  |  April 14th, 2011 at 6:45 am

Really Sony give us a sequel a GOOD sequel. As it stands right now there are no good rpg’s out for this system in my opinion. The PS3 needs a legend of dragoon remake and sequel you know it will sell why not do it.

48

clloyd711  |  April 15th, 2011 at 1:25 am

A sequel / prequel or remake would be awesome. LoD is definitely in the top 3 out of every game out there for me.

49

austin13195  |  June 7th, 2011 at 3:41 am

LOD was the best game ever made I would love to see a remake with better graphics or even a LoD 2 would be cool! I’d like to see sony get this done!
