Timesplitters franchise picked up

Idea 15342 | Posted in by | April 23, 2010

It was one of the first play create share games before the title existed. Playing online AND with bots on our made levels would really change fps games. And keep the comedy in it!

LOVED TS2….. I wish they would bring back the ability to play FPS with bots anyways, I dont think ANY FPS have that feature anymore.

Really people downvotes??!! It’s make your own shooter with story, bots, objectives, everything! Or deathmatch, tag, assault, and lots more! Bots add players so no waiting forever online or great time offline when you don’t wanna deal with the knuckeheads! IF you do decide to downvote please explain why thanks !

We sort of have that now with unreal tournament 3, since it has mod support.

Thanks I didn’t know that! I got off UT when they first switched platforms and then tried to copy halo too much. Timesplitters also isn’t as serious, sorta the spoof of all the fps (scary movie, date movie, etc..) The titles after each battle were great too! I had many parties where we make a bot super strong (the freakin monkey!!!) get drunk and try to take em out. Now its not worth the time to get together to play a shooter. The maps are way too big for 4 people and there’s only 2-3 characters that you get randomly placed as. The cartoon feel even got girls to play more!

i gotta agree, TS2 was one of the best games on the PS2, and despite the little bug that kept corrupting my save files it was one of my all time favourites.

Yeah.. no.. Unreal Tournament 3′s mod support is not in-game like TimeSplitters’ mapmaker. UT3′s mod support would work better if people actually cared to download the maps or were willing to use their HD for that.

Unfortunately, they don’t care for it and custom content often gets neglected in UT3. I saw custom map rooms much more often on TS: FP online, thanks to a few people hosting them and since TS: FP’s mapmaker is in-game, only the host needs the map on their memory card/ hard-drive for everyone to play it.

Anyhow, I’m here to start up an attempt to get a compilation disk for this awesome series, possibly complete with online for Future Perfect and maybe the second game, which was originally supposed to be online to. If Sly Cooper can, than TS should have a decent chance. Who knows. Maybe, this idea will light the spark that reignites Crytek’s interest in making TS4.

We already have a racing game and a platforming game (and more) with in-game level makers. Why not an FPS (with a level maker) that predates both of them?

Honestly, I feel that now is the time for the series to return. Custom content games seem to be growing in popularity rapidly, thanks to LBP. TS was definitely one of them and it’s mapmaker database thing was half-decent to boot. If they could bring it back, along with the online, I’d be pretty freakin’ happy. Truthfully, I think TS was just ahead of its time.

Oh, and TS: FP’s way of taking stats was awesome. It even ranks you in suicides and health pick-ups. (and of course caps, kills, and deaths)

We need a new TimeSplitters game. Please Crytek! Don’t be stupid! Do some publicity and you will see that there’s a lot of money to make with a TS4!!

If TS would of had at least one commercial on TV (in America, not just the UK), I bet it would of sold much better. It just never got as much publicity.

Also, fans of other compilations, keep voting for yours all you want, but keep your negative votes out of mine and I’ll keep mine out of yours for sure, not that I’d like to hurt the chances of your game getting a compilation either.

Why so many bad votes? Timesplitters 2 is really one of the best shooters ever. It’s not stupid like Call of Duty where you are playing a video game that copies real life, Timesplitters is actually, y’know, creative. It has awesome multiplayer (the multiplayer is like goldeneye, and it was made by the same people that worked on goldeneye). The mapmaker is great, and you can make your own story or multiplayer levels and share them online (online maps only on timesplitters FP). Please don’t rate this game down, especially if you haven’t even heard of it. Its really fun. If you have played it, and didn’t like it, you should maybe give it another chance.

Timesplitters needs to return. Not only is it a great shooter with more character than the rest of the genre put together, it supports the Play, Create, Share ethos and would be inviting to a wider demographic than the usual shooter crowd. And in CryEngine 3?! :O Get it done!

YESS!!!! Thanks so far to all supporters! I though no one but my personal friends cared bout this franchise. Please continue helping getting the word out. I see a lot of post asking for this type of game and it seems they never heard of timesplitters. Pass this on to crytec!

Absolutely!!! I mean seriously they just got better from 1-3, especially thought 3 added some AWESOME things to the map maker. Armed surveillance cameras? Vehicles? It was sick. And the humor! Someone mentioned the Duckman, but does anyone remember Gingerbread and Robofish? And when you get a headshot on Robofish, his fish bowl falls and breaks, and the goldfish flops around. LOL. I really really miss this game. It was pure genius all around.

Ok, so you get the Characters, Maps, MapMaker, Arcade(Fully Custom), Arcade League, Challenges, A huge weapon selection, Fully Customizable Bot Setup, No ONLINE(Who cares it was fun OFFLINE for anyone). Heck what can you not get through CryTeks big skull! They’re missing so much money because they won’t continue on of Free Radical’s greatest project that could make a gamer cry because it was fully of funny & serious stuff! CryTek doesn’t see how many hearts they are breaking and how much publicity they’re wasting. TimeSplitters with our bot, weapons, mapmaker and extreme mass load-out of characters, arcade modes, challenges and more is beyond the greater capability to keep a gamer satisfied for years. I still play TS1, TS2, & TS:FP. ADD ME IF YOU’D LIKE. Me and a bunch of friends from a website called http://www.TimeSplittersPortal.com always play TS:FP online and Sometimes even TS2 if you don’t have a TS Portal and you’re a ecstatic obsessive TimeSplitters player you need to go make one now. Heck while you’re at it visit this link for the PS2Online TimeSplitters time site(You must have a PS2 to play ONLINE with us)http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ visit the site and sign up! But make sure too post in our TimeSplitters forums too :D

Timesplitters is everything currently missing from the gaming industry. In the words of Miloko: BRING IT BACK TO ME!
