Because if they don’t then Move will never be more than a niche product, & will never get dev support
By bundling Move with new PS3s, many of the 40 million old PS3 owners will want to buy it too

I like the idea of a new move bundle, but I dont think its a necessary item to be in ALL the new PS3′s.

That is what they are going to do.

they’d have to raise the cost of a ps3 with this and the regular controller added – they can’t give a move controller and camera away free
considering how they had to remove so much from the original playstation 3 systems to get the $299 price point that seems necessary to sell them it’s really unlikely that it would be anything but a limited edition bundle . even at $399 they couldn’t sell ps3s in enough quantity to compete .

They’ve said that there will be a Move bundle. But if there is a cheaper PS3 without Move then the cheaper SKU will sell more. Move sales will be ok, but it won’t make the Move userbase really high.
Accessories never do well, but bundled accessories get used.
If the cost is really too high for Sony to absorb, then maybe they should include a voucher with every new PS3 giving a big, as in >50% big, discount on Move to all new owners who didn’t buy the Move bundle.

Sorry, I like the PS3 being less than $400 entry price. They are doing a Move bundle, but forcing it on every new purchase(despite not everyone having interest in it) is just dumb.

I’d rather have a cheaper PS3 than force bundling the move. They shouldn’t suck up the loss of bundling move they should invest what they would spend in making great games.
That will drive the sales itself.

adding that kind of cost to the ps3 for something very few people will use is just stupid. its a novelty. Take the hint this is PS3 not wii

as much as I’m a fan of Move, I reluctantly voted down… because the point of move is personal preference and options. I don’t think it’s fair to shove it down other’s throats. I definitely support that there are Move PS3 bundles out there though!

While I do enjoy games like Datura and PixelJunk 4am a lot, I like Sony’s stance on motion controls right now. Move is more for the people who have a PS3 but might be attracted to motion control games on another system. This way if we want motion controls here they are, and if not they don’t hammer us over the head with it.
