This is a FREE First-Person Shooter, and it is ALREADY running on computers with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X or Linux.
So why not add the PS3?
Just imagine the Cross-Platform Chatting/Gaming!
Bring Quake Live to the Sony PlayStation 3

we’ll never have cross platform gaming or chat , there’s just no way Sony would give access to psn servers to microsoft or mac users .
it would open it up to hackers , and they are direct competitors . I doubt microsoft or mac would do this either , not to mention that the code on each version is completely incompatible so you couldn’t have ps3 play against linux or linux against mac etc. .

When Sony open it up to Microsoft, Microsoft will open up to Sony, and same story with Apple & Linux.
Why not have a server connecting all three companies’ online services, meaning that all they can do is cross-game play/chat and nothing less/more.

@5
when ?
not going to happen , that would be the equivalent of wal-mart opening a k-mart inside their store . they’re too competitive and aren’t going to open up cross platform anything , this separation is what makes you choose one console over the others , if they made it so it didn’t matter because you could play against anybody there’d be no reason to pick a ps3 over an xbox or a wii and all the firmwares and software would have to be made the same to be compatible

the question comes to mind, why would you want to play an FPS game like quake on a dual shock, yeah theirs been games like unreal tournament where you can plug in and sword and board it, but if you want that then just go buy it.

Bring Duke Nukem 3d before you bring this.
X box has it, w/ an online matchmaking system.
what more would you want.?

a better idea would be for sony to not moderate valid ideas from their users.. its called share blog, but it seems to be more like if we like your idea we will allow it to be posted..
sony seriously why dont you just get rid of this share blog if you wont let us post ideas and get other peoples feedback on the issues

@Comment 12 I agree, we need to bring this idea to the eyes of Sony, because if we get a Free FPS, it will get people addicted and almost EVERYBODY will be advertising Quake Live, therefore one reason to buy a PS3 over the other two home-based consoles of this gen.
@Comment 8 There are many other reasons to buy one console over another, such as their exclusives, their features, whether you prefer one brand over the other etc. etc.

Grande idéia, isto seria muito bom.
Mas eu acho meio difícil.

Pode ser um pouco difícil (eu concordo), mas vamos lá, é a Sony, eles vão pensar de uma maneira de fazê-lo!

It may be a little difficult (I agree), but come on, it’s Sony, they’ll think of a way to do it!
