Are the comics stores the same? I would imagine that there are different comics available for popularity/licensing reasons.

If that’s so, I don’t see Sony making the reader region-free…

Its not necessarily sony’s fault. I believe its to do with licensing agreements.

I don’t want Japanese comics. I’m in the EU, I have an EU account, I want to buy EU comics.

However, the EU Comic Reader will not install on a Japanese PSP, and the Japanese Comic Reader will not open EU comics.

See the problem? This is nothing to do with licensing, this is Sony region locking the reader software totally unnecessarily.

I don’t mind having to install the EU Reader under GAME if that is what is required (this allowed the UK-only Go!Messenger service tp be installed on a JP PSP), but Sony have made sure that the EU Reader refuses to run when installed in that way.

Hell yes to this! I’ve had a JPN ceramic white PSP-1000 for over 4+ yrs, and yet since this change the comic reader is completely useless to me. I have a JPN account and US one but for quite some time since the comic reader has been added I can’t even get any of the US comics from the PSN store to read on my system.

I wish Sony wouldn’t make things so freakin’ complicated just region-free it like they do w/ the games and call it a day. <_<

Why would 34 people vote this down? Why would 34 people think we shouldn’t be able to read comics bought from the only PSP store we can access?
