Make a home theater system for the PS3 so you don’t have 2 BluRay players

Not every HTIB (Home Theater In a Box) come with BluRay players. I don’t see this as necessary. Usually, if there are two systems with identical prices and one also includes a BD player, then all the other parts are lower quality than the set w/o a BD player. (Think about it, the same amount of money spread across more parts means each part is worth less.)

just buy a standalone stereo system , you don’t need a home theatre system for surround sound

@2 what if i don’t want a standalone stereo system? just cause its enough for you don’t mean it will be for everyone and i do agree they should make a 5.1-7.1 system for ps3 cause they did the same thing with ps2 so why not?

There are plenty of these out there already. Sony doesn’t need to make yet another one.

Yeah, I’d really like this! A 5.1 Surround System would make my game experience great!

All I have is 5.1 DIGITAL Surround Sound…….

so you’re saying that my current surround sound system isn’t good enough? sure I cut cheap and didn’t buy a HTIB, and actually bought a real receiver, tower speakers, 2 subs, rear speakers, and a center speaker…. and it puts out in perfect 5.1 with my ps3

@2 A Stereo system only has 2 channels broadcasting audio, that is not surround sound. You do need a home theater system for surround sound, or you go and customize your set up with a stand alone receiver(you know, the big clunky things, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Yamaha+-+910W+7-Ch.+A/V+Home+Theater+Receiver/9473358.p?id=1218111857530&skuId=9473358&st=yamaha%20receiver&contract_desc=null ) and speakers (with sub-woofer) from your favorite speaker company. Otherwise, there is no way to achieve surround sound. (I’m not counting the “surround sound” systems that are really a stereo, like the Bose 321 and Cinemate systems)

I agree, Pioneer did it for Xbox 360 (designed specifically to match the 360) so, Sony needs to do it for Sony Playstation.

wow go to best buy and get a a/v receiver. or a home theater in a box. this was probably the dumbest idea considering that the ps3 is compatible with any receiver that has an optical digital input or hdmi input. or even rca(but that doesnt give true surround)

and that one for xbox doesnt mean anything. you can plug a ps3 into it if you wanted to. it would sound the same with the same dvd. and the same room. you cant design a system specifically for a blu ray player, or a system. you can only tune one to make it sound right.
