Put out a plastic shell shaped like a Dualshock controller that you could snap the Vita into. Handhelds are usually too thin to hold comfortably, due to the need for them to be compact.

I will say that I like the handling of the Vita as is, but an option to snap on a Dualshock shell and maybe some analog stick extensions (if done right) would be a great comfort. Sony doesn’t necessarily have to make this, however; other companies have done shells already, and there may be some better ones on the way.

To be completely fair, I don’t have too much experience holding onto a Vita. I’ve played the Uncharted demo on in-store demo units, but that’s it. I was mostly thinking back to the PSP-2000. I tried playing the demo for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and that killed my hands. No, I’m serious; my hands are dead.
Hyperbole aside, nothing wrong with making a handheld even more comfortable. I just think a Sony endorsed accessory would get far more exposure (and, unfortunately, a larger price tag).

Have you heard of/tried this?

It’s officially licensed by Sony and it’s apparently really good!
Only thing that would make something like this better would be if these shells added some kind of rumble support. Unlikely, yeah, but it would be cool if this happened.

The PS Vita is already very ergonomic.

the Vita is pretty large , bigger than a dual shock 3 , and it’s very comfortable to hold for long play periods . If it was smaller or uncomfortable like the 3ds than I’d say yes but the vita does not need an add-on and would be way to large to hold comfortable with one
