I like this idea.
Interesting models include Life Is Crime on Android but I would really like to see an E10+ or T-rated (ESRB rating) version of those game mechanics with family friendly activities and competitions to give it the widest possible audience.

The idea is to 1. Finally make some use of your Trophy level as well as 2. not lean on how many trophies you unlock but now also where you unlock them. So if you go on a trip and hammer away and unlock trophies in another county or State, you might be able to control a piece of territory there and would have to revisit, or create a clan there, to continue controlling it!
This could also transform your trophy unlocks to in-game cash to spend on “upgrading” the appearance of your captured territory, maybe a logo for your area, etc. It could be a lot of fun!

I’d love more connectivity for near and trophies and Salesmunn nicely expanded on the original idea.

Honestly all the way around this seems like a really smooth way to capitalize on both NEAR and the trophies system.
