The vita only lets you select 15 min intervals to receive messages, this is way to long. We need an option to stay signed in and receive messages as they are sent.

I would love this to happen, I don’t like the 15 min wait, it should be as soon as you get the message it notifies you.

The 15 minute wait is messed up. I can only imagine it’s a cap for the 3g data users as the message app could take many mb of a 250mb plan very easily.
I think more important would be the augmentation of the setting to allow smart detection of networks. If you’re on WiFi, instant and unlimited messaging/image sharing. If you’re on 3g, 15m intervals and limited.
You can see a good example of this in Android OS settings for many apps that can potentially use a lot of data.
Another example would be on a laptop where there is a power plan for when the computer is plugged in where parameters can be set and another setting for when it’s not plugged in and on battery power. Basically 2 unique settings based on how the device is being used.

You’d need a 3g vita and data to make this work 100% of the time.

+1 and i want to be able to know who is sending the message, one more thing i want to be able to check my friends list and messages without having to log out from an online multiplayer game, because if i’m playing resistance burning skies or wipeout 2048 online and i get a message when i try to check it i always log out from my multiplayer session, the ps3 doesnt do that.

I agree 100% with remanutd5. I hate having to wait until I’m done with a multiplayer match or leaving during one just to send or even check a message. This needs to be fixed immediately.
