Basically I want to take my PS1 games on the go. And since I could do it with the PSP games I download, I want to know if its possible for those PS1 games as well.

This is one of the reasons holding me back on getting a vita. I wanna be able to play my FF7 and Grandia on the go.

I would really love to see this happen, just so I could play FF7,FF8, and FF9. Also a lot of people would love it because of Legend of Dragoon coming up on May 1 as a PS1 Classic.

The worse is not not having it, but having no news at all about it. It should already have at least a “launch date” or estimate like in may or june…

Only 11 comments come on now guys this is something we need to happen ASAP!! I’d like to play Vagrant Story and Xenogears while I travel along with many other PS1 JRPG’s. Hopefully we hear something at E3 at the latest concerning this subject if not then come on now Sony hop to it.

No question!!! Too many great PSOne classics that I won’t play on an HD screen because it just looks so much better on a smaller, handheld. PSOne games played great on PSP and they should be even better on Vita! I really would love to load up RE 1-3 or FF7, 8 & 9, Chrono Trigger & Cross, LoD or even the Crash Bandicoot games… Sony PLEASE!!!!

lets just hope they let us play the ones we’ve paid for, instead of having to re-purchase them digitally again

chaindrive30 | April 20th, 2012 at 12:46 pm
I agree protoklok42 Sony should find a way for us to be able to download them from our PS3 systems to our Vita systems free of charge I don’t wan’t to have to buy them a second time.

I’m kinda stunned at the lack of support for PSone games and even PSP games. You’d think Sony would’ve included this from launch. What were they thinking?!

yo sony whats the freakin’ hold up? Can u at least tell us more like what is going on with this? it’s a major weak spot, remote play stinks (grainy/laggy at times), you’d sell tons of hardware and software.
the most frustrating part to me is that sony doesn’t even comment, like are you working on this or what guys?

They’re seriously just toying with us at this point. Mark My words: You WILL be forced to re-buy PSOne games, even if you’ve already purchased them over PSN. I can see no other reason why it’s taken so long, other than to integrate PS1 support into the PSsuite SDK, as they did with the Xperia Play.

you can play ps1 classics on the vita! you just have to have a ps3. 1:download the game to your ps3
2:go to remote play
3:you should be able to play your game from there
i just play spyro 2 today. there shouldn’t be a problem.

This absolutely needs to happen and it needs to happen faster then it has been. This was one of the reasons i purchased this machine on launch was because it was told to have compatibility with classics. I’m quite frustrated so far with this because of the lack of progression and the lack of updates surrounding the progress. If this is an attempted ploy to sucker people into buying the psp as well as the vita then i’m surely questioning the business. If that’s not the case then at least provide more updates, this is the MOST requested feature on the system, why are u treating it like a gimic that can wait? I also read that a Sony spokesperson stated that they want to focus on the psp collection first??? are you kidding me? its been the only handheld in 7 years from sony, they go release a new system finally, and u want your initial focus to be on the system you just replaced? give me a break and get a grip.

Sony has access to an amazing back catalogue of games and they won’t let us play ‘em.
Strange to see a company that doesn’t like money, but there seem to be a lot of those around lately.

Glad to see this feature is coming but there’s no firm release date yet. That’s unacceptable!
