Accounts that are inactive and have not logged in for a very long time be reset. So they can be used again, because alot of the accounts on PSN are inactive and are not used.

What they need to do is add an email confirmation step to creating accounts so dumb people stop making a million accounts with fake email addresses that they use once and then never again, or that they use to harass people online etc.

Ms eventuially did this to xbox live accounts who never bought a 360-after their slim 360 hit so if we don’t have /get a vita or eventuially a ps4 and are only gaming on psp and ps3 sony could do that but as much as i can’t imaging being offline for 45+ days and it might be questionable if those psn accounts are active anymore i wouldn’t tell someone so sorry you’re not online we’re now going to repo your psn tag so someone can be online with that name.
Poor form.

We should be able to have this plus the ability to deactivate a system from a PC anytime. Sony really needs to learn how to treat the customers better. The current system sucks and I’m sure they know that.

What happens if they reset an account that was inactive but the user just was not able to access it because they were out of the country ? The user decides to sue sony because they had games purchases or their credit card info on it ? They just need to make it clear in bold print when you sign up YOU CANNOT CHANGE THIS ID AND ARE REQUIRED TO CONFIRM VIA E-MAIL . so losers stop makin a ton of accounts every time they decide they don’t like their id anymore .
I would have been pissed id Sony deactiaved my account when my ps3 broke and it took me a few months to replace it , if they stole my $600 in games just because I never signed in for 2 months there would have been a lawsuit .

Yeah, this isn’t a great idea. I actually live in the middle of nowhere where only dial-up internet is available. That means whenever I go home for the summer 4 months of the year I have no internet access. If I suddenly lost all of the games I’d purchased via PSN over the summer I wouldn’t be very happy…
