Yeah, I mean they could have it just on the playstation site. You can log in and see your friends and who’s online. And it can say under your name “Offsite” or “Mobile” or whatever.

I have a WinMo phone and logging into the official web-site is not too difficult, but an app would be great!

Make this a social app too. Put it on the iPhone, Android, Windows 7 Series, Palm. Don’t just make it available for your sony phones.

I agree. Having an official iPhone app would be very handy.

100% agree with this, Just think about a sony ver of BBM but opening it up to TV’s, Camera’s and all othe Sony products that use the PSN service. I would love to be able to send my friends a message while im on the way home from work and they are playing BFBC 2 On Ps3. This new app should be developed for WinMo, Iphone, SE, and Android.
But along with a mobile psn app, we need a totally new messaging system. Im sick of sending my messages in the subject line. The messaging on Ps3 Sucks, It needs to be like a IM system

agreed, there would probably a problem w/ hackers though

Remember when Phil Harrison showed this years ago during a press conference? Still, this would be a nice feature. I’d rather just have it be accessible via the internet first, and then possibly via apps on phones. As it is, most phones that have a web browser could access it via that in some form so that’d be the first step, I’d think.

Yeah, I asked Kevin Butler this on PSN.. He said “iPhone competes with PSP, so, this probably won’t happen until Sony Global figures it out or decides to play ball. Thats my guess”

TokyoWasabiman | March 17th, 2010 at 5:19 pm
Why don’t you just buy a PSPGo or a PSP 3000?

oGoditsNick | March 17th, 2010 at 5:47 pm
YES! that is a great idea. Especially since windows mobile 7 right around the corner. Would be great to go on without using a wifi or my psp. Its a long shot though since Sony has ericson and the psp.
a man can dream though, a man can dream

Absolutely fantastic idea. I too would love an app for my blackberry where I can send messages (via PSN) to my friends to arrange a game night.
some of the friends on my friend list are not my friends in “real life” – just are my PSN friends.
this would be great if i could text them and see if they want to play XYZ game later.

I’d love to have this. Just add the hooks for it to be done online and i’m sure some industrious folk would make apps for all the major phones.

I use the excellent iTrophies on my iPhone for checking trophies and friends. Apparantly messaging won’t be possible until Sony allow messages from anything other than a PS3!

This. Sell an iphone app. A psp app. A windows live portable app. Dont expect all ppl to buy a sony phone because they have a ps3. Embrace the market. Ppl own diff types of phones and mp3 players

@Boyinastairwell
I have that app and I love it. Helps to see if friends are online and to shows my Trophies to friends. Also so I can send a friend a text to their phone telling them I can see they are playing “Game” even though I’m not online. I’m Watching You!!!

Great idea. I actually bought an iPhone app that let’s me view my trophies as well as who’s online on my friends list. But obviously I don’t appear online and can’t message friends. This would be great!

manson60 | May 8th, 2012 at 3:12 pm
I had the exact same idea. They dont even have to incorporate the store onto it, id be happy with a psn messenger and trophy app.

This would be cool. Download a demo or new game at school/work and have it all ready when you get home. Yeaaaah!

I actually submitted the same idea about a week ago. This idea only makes sense, considering what apps are available for literally everything else in the world.

id love for this to happen

I’ve wanted one of these for a while. SCEE has an official PlayStation app for Android that allows you to see who’s online and check Trophies, but no messaging features. It baffles me why SCEA hasn’t released it or something like it yet.

Being able to check and respond to messages on my phone would be so good. Not having to go through the awfully slow menu during matches.
