Iconic characters from Japan for younger gamers

Idea 58280 | Posted in by | July 23, 2012

The Japanese make very memorable & lovable characters for the young generations of gamers like Mario, Sonic & Pokemon. PS3 & PS Vita is crippled in this respect by the lack thereof.

What is this supposed to be about? There are Sonic games on PS3 while Mario and Pokemon are obviously exclusive to Nintendo. You could try LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet And Clank, or Sly Cooper. There are also PSN games that fit this sort of criteria.

Sackboy, Ratchet, and Sly are all American mascots. What he means is that Sony also needs Japanese mascots. Right now, the only Japanese mascot Sony has is that little cat.

What about an Australian mascot? He could be a Wombat named Edgar.

And an African mascot, named Abassi. He’s the Spirit of an African Prince who appears in the form of an Okapi.

Screw Japan, and their obsession with convoluted stories and awful anime characters. Mario and Sonic are cool cuz they’re not typical anime characters.

If you want a youthful SCE Japan Mascot, I nominate ICO.

Ooo… and ICO’s name is in the word ICOnic… I just got chills.

@2 Yea, I know they’re all American. I was just pointing out that there’s already kid friendly platformers out there and it shouldn’t make a difference where they’re from.

Only Sony can balance quality games for young & mature on PS platforms. Is SCEJ making its answer to Sackboy,Ratchet, Sonic,Pokemon,Mario?
