Apps such as Twitter and Facebook for the PS Vita should have access to the web browser without having to exit the current app.

They already do.
Twitter more so than facebook. Twitter can be open at the same time. Facebook can open the browser from a link selected in the facebook app, but sometimes asks you to close the facebook app, but you can just reload the page. The Facebook app essentially need to be redone, it takes up too much priority which is why you can’t open the browser without this backdoor. It drains the battery life like crazy. Twitter though, completely fine.

@1 You aren’t getting the idea… I want a built-in browser, so you stay on Twitter on Facebook instead of opening the separate browser app.

Much like the Twitter and Facebook apps on iOS, where you can open a link and you won’t have to exit that app in order to view the link, but you can view it inside the app.

I have an iPod touch 4 and the twitter and facebook apps do open up the safari browser app, they don’t display web pages within the twitter and facebook apps themselves.

@5 Then you may have an old version of those apps. When you open a link on either of them, the safari browser opens inside the app. It never forces you to leave facebook or twitter to open safari separately.

Oh, I see what you mean now. I avoid using apps on iOS, I find it better to use full sites through safari and hate mobile redirects. Anyway, that is kind of nifty and wasn’t originally part of those apps when I used them. I see the advantage of this capability but I’m not sure it is possible with the current browser. Perhaps when PS Mobile launches we will have a variety of capabilities that will make a world of difference. For now just live with it opening in a different app and hope facebook recodes their app.

@7 Well yeah, hardly anything is possible with the current web browser which really needs to be updated.

not needed, not wanted
The way it is now lets us use the web browser in game

@9 Unless you have a different meaning for “in game”. You have to exit the game or app to open the browser and this feature is more towards apps such as Facebook and Twitter than games.
