i think that sony should release a sequal to the xperia play. Think about one of the latest smartphones with the game capability of the new ps vita.

Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Ericsson do not merge services. It’s one of the reasons the XPeria Play didn’t sell that well, because we only had access to games that Sony Ericsson ported themselves (a few PSOne games).
However, I LOVED the idea of a built-in joypad on a phone, and games (like Minecraft: PE) that were “optimized for XPeria Play” (they were programmed to use the joypad controls).

Didn’t Sony buy out Erricson’s share in Sony Erricson? And would that make it easier for an Xperia Play 2 to be made? I have an Xperia PLAY, and I am honestly afraid that they might not make a second version. Give it more internal memory, 4G, and a faster cpu and it would be amazing. I won’t upgrade unless it is to another Playstation phone.

Few major Flaws that Sony should improve in Xperia Play 2:
- increase the internal memory (300mb in Xperia play was not sufficient to handle even the default apps)
- more screen brightness on max (screen of Xperia play was barely visible in sun even on max)
- support for all networks including HSPA 1700/2100 or say pentaband
- support for non-sony wired headphones with mic.
dont care about Xperia play 2, maybe release Xperia play 1.5 with all thses fixes or just an upgraded Xperia play.

The Xperia Play was the one phone that I wanted over anything else and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Even though it’s flawed, I want the gamepad more than any other feature and only the Play offers it. I would love to see a true successor with everything the others have stated (much more storage, faster CPU/GPU, LTE support, etc.). Also a couple of physical joysticks like those on the PSP Go would work better than the touch pads on the original model. Please Sony.
