the ps3 is running on CLOCK SPEED RAM.. the xbox is not, but it has more ram, ps3 just needs to be optimized.. cross game chat will NEVER happen on the ps3. Ram is the main issue. be glad you have in game XMB, i was a ps3 owner from the start it had NO in game XMB and ran slow as turds. It’s Much quicker than it was 5 years ago. you don’t want a PS4, because Sony is gonna charge $900 for it.. the ps3 I got was $650.00 and that one busted, (YLOD) recently got a Slim ps3, 3 years ago… Been working like a charm, fast as it can be.. I knew and you knew the Ram issues before buying the ps3. I just don’t like Xbox.

hmmm, Next-gen console from Sony will be about 400$ to 500$ mostly and if their stick with same specs but upgrade only the following we can see way batter improvement over PS3 has to offer now. I’m not list what their should improve sense Sony hardware field and software guys fail on to much on.

The next consoles from Sony and Microsoft will be reasonably cheap as they are rumored to use standard hardware instead of weird stuff that is harder to develop for.
And obviously the PS4 will have more RAM. But future PS3 models will not, that would be very strange to say the least.

All great feedback Thanks, But we all forgot to mention most of all is how the ram effects our game play, I’m sure most if not all have played Skyrim and know how long the load times are from coming in and out doors and lag issues, I must say It’s pretty ridiculous. . And what I heard from Bethesda the ram is a big issue to why the Dawnguard dlc is so hard to be implemented onto the Ps3.. Enough said, Sony Please open up your eyes to what was of the ps2 a great machine that lasted it’s good ten year run and at a time where there was no updates. . Ps3 has and is at it’s end of it’s rope while even it had it’s good run. . Let’s move on and do it right this time, It’s Ps4 time to shine!

Please. If you dont know what you are talking abaout, shut up. First learn how a ram works, what mean it´s speed, latency and capacity AND THEN, post about it. The problems you are mentioning on Skyrim are because of Bethesda and not of the PS3 ram. The same happens with most subpar ports. And 8GB for the ps4? Tell me, how do you want them? ddr3? ddr4? gddr5? xdr dram? See? It´s very easy to talk, but you should do it with fundaments. Thank you good sir.

correct Ottsel, the PS3 hardware is plenty capable, granted more RAM is always nice, but you can’t honestly expect them to drop another 512MB at the end of the lifecycle, especially when consoles are all about consistent hardware. It’s my opinion that the PS3′s RAM config is just perfect for the type of CPU/GPU that Sony chose. The reason the 360 has gotten many good ports is because the xbox was built around the technology that PC games use, when ported to a PS3 it obviously wont work as well. Bethesda has little experience with anything outside the PC so it makes sense.

I must say Ottsel You are an imbecile :/ …. In regards to Ottsel, The facts are out there, Please do your research before bashing out with only hot air, Remember Google your friend you ignoramus
And PLEASE STOP with the DDR crap(” That’s Tech Noob Lag” lol), I’m not new to this my friend, If you really want to get technical with it, Nor was there that many characters to work with on my original post . . As for Howell, Please don’t assume I expect them to do ANYTHING to the ps3 this late in the game, My original post clearly states “Ps4 for the future give us 8gb or better!” , With that said cheers!

OH! And one more thing, Howell I think you got me all wrong here, I love the PS3 cell architecture and know how powerful it is, And how It makes up for the crappy Gpu it has over the years, I get that! But like you said it’s hard for developers to grasp the full potential of the processor to make up for the gpu and ram, But Sony knew this coming into the game with it and still had the balls to do it, With probably with the mind set of, They will(Force)Learn how to use it on the count of their high self esteem at the time when the Ps2 dominated the console Generation of it’s time.. Point is it’s not the developers faults , it’s clearly Sony. . Why you think there are rumors of the PS4 will come out with an A-10 processor, Now who fault is it?

OK. While i agree the PS3 needs more ram, its too late. What the PS3 needs now is a Virtual memory ability if it doesn’t already. shouldn’t need to use more than maybe 1GB of hard drive. And they need to put more in the PS4. cause seriously besides “console specific games” I’d rather just play whatever on PC and be able to use Player created mods to get more life out of my games. seeing as the PS4 is probably going to be $500 or more at first release. at that price you can get a decent low end actual gaming PC.
