Flight Sim on PS3

Idea 471 | Posted in by | March 17, 2010

Can some really skilled Developer please make a Flight Sim like Xplane of Microsoft Flight Sim for the Console? Just imagine the amazing graphics and how much fun it would be to fly with friends.

+ 1 I would also love to see a Flight Sim title on PS3. Those games have a huge fan base on PC though.

yeah they do, but it would be amazing to be able to fly on console! They could even take it as far as having actual Air Traffic Controllers too! so a little bit for everyone. Both Military and Civilian. Plus a nice wireless joystick. Oh my gosh it would be outstanding!

Im sure this will be in GTA:V lol

Midgetguy  |  March 17th, 2010 at 10:00 pm

I’m thinking sorta like Gran Turismo, but with Airplanes!

That would be interesting! I know my dad would definately get into it!

Yeah but GTA V can not and never will be able to capture flying the right way. You need a dedicated simulator that pertains only to aircraft and air traffic control. The Gran Turismo Idea is good. But no racing. I like the detail that Gran Turismo brings to the table, but its strictly flying. There should be two options: Military and Civilian. If your in military, you can engage with other military craft. There should be an option in your user settings that allow for random engagements in whatever craft your flying or not. Think Test Drive Unlimited(using the whole world close to real time travel distances) +Gran turismo’s detail and customization for both exterior and interior.

i totally agree with this cause with the PS3’s processor and its super awesome hardware it could be able to make the best and the most stunning graphics for a flight simulator and it could have a better way of teaching you how to fly than Microsoft flight simulator cause there way takes too long and with people with slow computers it just sucks so yea this is a great idea yo glad u brought it up.

There is also a company that makes flight yokes and other controls including different smaller add-ons that make up six different gauges. I’ve been thinking about this for a while as well and I think it’s a great idea. You could add trophies for different pre-loaded flights or tutorials, and also for the combat missions that you can fly online against other players.

silvertip83  |  July 10th, 2010 at 1:06 am

Yeah, we could have trophies for things such as flying around the world, and all sorts of multiplayer goodness.

Course a solid developer would need to be at the helm of this one.

Who do you guys/gals think would be best suited for the job?

silvertip83  |  July 10th, 2010 at 1:11 am

Personally I think the top three are Bethesda, The Atari “TDU 2” dev team, or more than likely, one of Sony’s in house dev teams. Making it an exclusive game made specifically for the PS3 would allow for such an amazing graphical experience. Plus, don’t forget solid and very realistic gameplay.

I think Warhawk is a good choice for a flight sim. game

but i dunno if there is a better simulation game….

silvertip83  |  August 5th, 2010 at 2:02 pm

Nah warhawk is a joke if your talking about a flight sim game.

It doesnt compare to Xplane or Microsoft Flight Sim.

We need something like X-Plane 9 on console.

TURRICAN-808  |  August 14th, 2010 at 1:28 pm

You could try ‘IL2 Sturmovik: Birds Of Prey’ for PS3, use a Thrustmaster Arcade Joystick, select the Simulation option…..

silvertip83  |  August 18th, 2010 at 7:46 am

yeah thats a fun game. But not anywhere near what im talking about. Just imagine Test Drive Unilimited except using planes. All different types of planes and instead of racing, you earn money by completing flights.

AndrewTo  |  September 12th, 2010 at 12:32 pm

oh I really love to hv more flying related games on ps3.
btw which joystick is da best suit for ps3 for HAWX 2 ?

One of my great disappointments is the demise of the flight sim

They just aren’t being made anymore. With modern tech like satellite images and PS3 hardware, you could make a really realistic flight sim in the vein of GT5… as in a simulator that’s so real that it’s cool. Physics and weather simulation would be amazing on modern hardware.

They could simulate a huge variety of planes and have tonnes of game modes, like races, combat, or just good old-fashioned flying from LAX to HKG

And with PSN, it would be easy to update, and even easier to sell us hundreds of dollars of DLC

silvertip83  |  October 29th, 2010 at 12:12 am

haha agreed, I would pay for planes like crazy!

I really wish they would make a flight sim

unfairpanic  |  January 12th, 2011 at 5:49 am

Well if you want a bigger fan base then you should hook it up with a real flight. Sim

the-equalizer007  |  January 21st, 2011 at 3:09 pm

I’d certainly be interested in a flight sim like FSX or X-plane on PS3 and I’m sure a lot of simmers would be also, if they came out with one. Lets hope they choose to develop one.

silvertip83  |  February 27th, 2011 at 6:38 pm

That’s all we can really do. Its hard to believe that no developer has thought to make a legit flight sim for PS3. Hell even putting X-Plane on Ps3 would be amazing!

xBLUManiac  |  March 16th, 2011 at 4:42 am

Take planet earth as in google earth, and everything there is on the earth and around it.
Have people choose what they would like to do in the game like if they want be in a car, boat, airplane, etc., and have them do whatever they want. And of course this has to be online, cause that’s what makes it all interesting. It would be kind of cool if there was a playstation unique phone number so you can share your number with your friends and they could call you while in the game. This could probably be implemented into ps3 system itself which would be a very cool addition to ps3 systems, so whenever your’re on ps network you could make that call instead of having to send a text every time which takes forever. And back to the game I think all of you would say that this would be a great game. Think about facebook and twitter. The whole world connects to it on one screen full of words and some videos and pictures. I think we’re ready to take it further than that. Facebook and twitter is, I don’t want to say old school, but we are ready to take this virtual world to the next level which will change everybody’s life forever.
Just imagine what we could do if we could make this possible.
