Pages: 1 2

BalramRules  |  June 24th, 2010 at 1:47 pm

You could’ve written more (not on the link).
So that we get a more professional view of it.

Senjutsu_Dav  |  June 24th, 2010 at 3:43 pm

Wow, the link is pretty impressive. Nice work. Like BalramRules said, you should have written more so it actually looks like you’re proposing something.

Sir_Vague  |  June 24th, 2010 at 3:49 pm

Seriously, what fool would vote this down?

D-Roca  |  June 24th, 2010 at 3:54 pm

you should work for Sony, great job!!

inVanity  |  June 24th, 2010 at 4:29 pm

Agree with most of these.

rougegoat  |  June 24th, 2010 at 5:12 pm

I like most of these…though somethings that came to mind while reading it…

Universal Memory Manager should have a pie chart view(so you can see what percentage each thing is taking up, makes it easier to tell which you’d rather delete).

Friends of Friends could have a web feature, where you see all your friends and a web of who they’re friends with so you can see the overlap of your friends’ friends lists. So if Steve and Dave are both friends with April, you can see that in one view instead of looking at Steve and Dave and making the mental connection. kinda hard to explain what I mean…

More on what friends are doing: the “Watching a video” type one would have to have a filter. Many DVDs come up as near gibberish, and should just be replaced with “Watching a DVD”

I really, really like this mock up.(

rougegoat  |  June 24th, 2010 at 5:12 pm

GoogleTV requires an input and an output HDMI port, so you’d have to have a hardware redesign in order to make it happen.

the re-login requirement on account management is a security feature. some email providers require it also. It makes sure that the person messing with your account is actually authorized and not just logged onto someone’s system.

Overall, I like your list. So +1

JoeDierte  |  June 24th, 2010 at 9:39 pm

good work.

voted up +1 😉

the_Hedgehog  |  June 24th, 2010 at 11:08 pm

Great set of ideas with concept pictures to help! If I were Sony, I would fly you out to the engineering department and get to work!

carlosm71  |  June 25th, 2010 at 4:16 am

oh, the situational irony…

i’m sure one of those improvements call for a better browser, but i can neither confirm that OR read the entire list, since the ps3 browser no longer shows the forums. all i know is the title of the page, but 100+ sounds good, so you get my +1.

judetx  |  June 25th, 2010 at 7:05 pm

Wow, talented much? Lol, your mockups prove you are most def not a n00b at graphics. Looks as if it was made by Sony. I wish I could vote this up 1,000 times. Why would so many vote this down, I think some people just vote down to spite.

fuzzyclutter  |  June 25th, 2010 at 9:55 pm

people vote down because theirs a million ideas out there about how to improve the ps expierience .. but the truth is … these are ideas that would improve YOUR ps expierience . doesnt necassarily mean it would improve others . do i have to be informed if one of my friends so much as farts while using his ps3 ? do i want others to know every move i make ? i think not .

MrBeatdown  |  June 26th, 2010 at 12:19 am

Wow, this list has to be on the desk of everyone who develops PS3 firmware. Great list!

King_Bobo  |  June 26th, 2010 at 11:01 am

The ideas are mostly good, but I feel a lot of them simply aren’t feasible. For example, the XMB is constantly being made more and more efficient (in terms of the memory footprint) – anything that they add to it will take away resources from developers, which is something you simply cannnot do when there are games that already use all of the memory available.
Additionally – 3rd party integration isn’t something Sony has very much control over – it’s upto the 3rd parties to choose if they want to have it on PS3 or not.

explosive78  |  June 26th, 2010 at 7:17 pm

Sony doesn’t listen to us. This site is just to shut us up and keep all the complaints and ideas in one space.

AmnesiaInnocent  |  June 27th, 2010 at 5:21 pm

I don’t understand why you had to group these all together. Some I agree with, some I don’t. Do you expect me to vote up or down?

gold5225  |  June 27th, 2010 at 7:19 pm

This list is top notch I wish all of these features get added into the PS3.

T-Icey  |  June 27th, 2010 at 9:11 pm

I just can’t understand why SONY doesn’t add cool features like this, instead of making crappy firmwares. We just need people like this working for Sony, so other competitors can no longer say “they are superior”

The reason why they say that is because, yeah in most of the cases, it seems that Sony don’t even care about the features that PSN need, but the most useless and insignificant features, that no one is even thinking about it (like an entire firmware, just to add a little feature like, “OH LOOK, now you can sort your trophies by name/date!!!”) i mean those are features, %1 maybe were waiting for, but not the features that PSN really need

Tomskevo  |  June 30th, 2010 at 7:59 am

Some of these ideas are great, this deserves a lot more attention and +1’s than it currently has. Although I think a few of these ideas could have been fleshed out in more detail in their own suggestions.

Loved the mock-up for the improved PSN Profiles. If Sony were to integrate something like that that’d be awesome.
The friends feed is a clever idea as well, although I think it would be better if users were only notified when friends got a platinum trophy, instead of an update for every bronze. For people with competitive trophy hunting friends that would be a pain.

Great work.

parsiasafa  |  July 1st, 2010 at 2:39 pm

KIA_NUNU you are the most open minded guy i have ever seen
you have successfully found all the primary and secondary things that users need to feel more comfortable while in psn environment
at the end I think your idea was pretty impressive
I would look forward to your next ideas

GreatnessRD  |  July 2nd, 2010 at 12:54 am

This idea is pimp tight. Hey Sony, let’s get on it.

jakinov  |  July 2nd, 2010 at 1:01 am

You all gotta share this idea with everyone you know with a PSN account.

Mobius_124  |  July 2nd, 2010 at 1:13 am

Vote +1

get this to the top of the list NAO!

KIA_NUNU  |  July 2nd, 2010 at 12:40 pm

I’m glad many people like the ideas!
But they are not mine , They’re shakedown1986 ‘s.
It’s all thanks to shakedown1986!

East_AZN_Nation  |  July 3rd, 2010 at 4:51 pm

I came all the way here to say.. SONY, in the next update, could you PLEASE include the ability to GROUP Friends into categories? I don’t remember half of my friends I met online. It would be nice to group them by a name that I can specify myself to recognize them :smileysad: I have to keep looking in their profile to see what games they are compatible with. Thank You. DO THIS IN THE NEXT UPDATE PLEASE.

matt-876  |  July 4th, 2010 at 1:49 pm

i agree also! but someone said
beforw about friends friends…that wud b nuts and alot of work and if it was to happen i reckon it wud b on ps+.
u get my vote and hope it happens! +1! nicely presented also

nmccall  |  July 5th, 2010 at 12:37 am

If Sony would include at least a dozen tweaks like these with every update, everyone would be significantly happier. Most of these are very small, but would make a big difference if even half of the ideas are implemented.

The thread mentioned improving the notification system. Specifically, I want to be able to turn off ALL notifications, including trophies.

Kluzot  |  July 7th, 2010 at 6:52 am

One of the best thread I read

jayrockslife  |  July 13th, 2010 at 1:41 am

This is a great list. Listen up Sony!

st0rmbr1nger  |  July 18th, 2010 at 5:20 pm

A Mixed bag of good ideas and poorly thought out items from someone clearly technically illiterate.

I don’t want my console switching off halfway through a game because a background download finished.

I don’t want my game framerate to slow to a crawl because a background install starts.

JAZZAR1N0  |  July 24th, 2010 at 9:37 am

If they added half of these it would be epic!!!!!!!!!! +5 BILLION lol

lippy1  |  July 29th, 2010 at 2:13 pm

You have my +1. you legend these are fantastic tell your friends to vote +1 for this!

GreatnessRD  |  August 5th, 2010 at 8:12 pm

Come on people! Let your voices be heard. I chuckle that some people are voting down features to improve our overall PS experience.

kikoisme  |  August 8th, 2010 at 12:56 pm

I voted a yes. those are pretty good, and I agree with jazzar1no, if they added even half, it would greatly improve the system.

I also hope that the PS3 can read NTFS files from external hard drives, if that would be at all possible…!!!

PunchoThaBoss  |  August 21st, 2010 at 9:55 am

Sony look at those ideas those are great.PSN needs a major overhaul everything is bland. I don’t understand why you guys are so slow giving what the community wants.

Direxnipe  |  August 21st, 2010 at 10:40 am

there are a lot of good ideas in there, i dont agree with all of them but because there are a good amount of things i would like the sony and playstation to see i will vote up this idea.

if any sony/PS reps see this, know that most likely many of us dont agree with 100% of these ideas, but take note there are some very good ones in there.

PerfectCell-NL  |  August 31st, 2010 at 6:22 am

Sony/PSN-update staff… look at some of the ideas listed in here!

I-Iope3nder  |  September 7th, 2010 at 1:02 am

SONY, if not all at least implement some of the ideas we have suggested for you. I know it requires a lot of work but trust me it’s going to be worth it for your sales and users! Now only if you read this message by accident lol

emoplayer33  |  September 9th, 2010 at 12:22 am

Dear PlayStation,

Please. Listen
