MAG (Massive action game) sold more than 1 million copies. That game created a whole new community, and they deserve a sequel.

+1 (+100000000000000000000000 if I could)

I loved MAG and it’s enormous battles. I’d love a PS4 sequel with BF3 PC style graphics and destruction, even if that meant the same number of players.

F3045D-SP  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 2:36 am

To this day MAG is still crawling along. No matter what you Sony or your developer did to ruin it, you couldn’t completely kill it. It was that good. Sequel? What’s the hold up?

quagers13  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 4:43 am

MAG is easily one of the PS3’s best exclusives, just because the original developer no longer exists is no reason to deny a sequel. Get another developer on the case, get the community to help with shaping the next game and release it on the PS4, it will sell without a doubt.

Schecter_666  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 5:05 am

You would be doing yourselves, gaming as a business and as as a community, a huge disservice if MAG2 is not made.

Needless to say, the game is a classic and now has a cult following of sorts in light of the very low player numbers.

The game could have been 10x successful if certain issues were addressed or better yet, never existed in the first place.

We all know what needed to be done to make MAG the game it should have been but it was still a big hit and the most fun I’ve had in an online game and in a shooter, ever!

Many people could write on and on for pages and pages about how great this game is, a sequel needs to be made!

Darth_Snider  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 5:18 am

Pretty much what Schecter said.

Southclaw-  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 5:36 am

Again, +1 on Schecter’s post! This HAS to happen!

Tru-souLjah-  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 7:34 am

Best First Person Shooter Hands Down! No game for the Ps3 can come close to mags gameplay. Its sad all the patching and updates made this game worse and lose player count. And the lack of clan support/challenge system. Even with its flaws this games still better then anything to come out on the ps3

Hunnimonster64  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 7:56 am

The Best FPS I have ever played! You would be shooting yourselves in the foot if you didn’t released a MAG 2 seeing that you still got a strong player base of people.

eriktheheartless  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 9:29 am

no matter what game i try to replace mag with i always come have the technical info on mag and with a still active playerbase you have a free batch of creative with it, you found lightning in a bottle and this can go along way given the i have tried to replace mag with but they dont measure up(short list)
mw2,mw1,borderlands 1 & 2,bfbc2,bf3,plus many more but i always come back to mag.

theQube  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 2:58 pm

Quite simply one of the greatest games produce by anyone, on any platform, in the past 10 or more years – and that is in spite of numerous faults and various poorly made decisions. Truly a spectacular game.

xCougarx94  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 4:04 pm

The Game itself was very interesting I would like to see another one

J0hlss0n  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 4:18 pm

The best FPS game I’ve ever played, and one of the best communities, very few games have delivered so much fun gaming and so many fun and interesting people. MAG is one of the greatest games I’ve come to play, and it sure deserves a sequel.

lilzinho  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 6:15 pm

One of the most overlooked fps out there.
A true hidden gem and a diamond in the rough compared to all the other generic shooters out there.

With the right marketing campaign this game could have become a huge hit. The first original mmo fps on console deserves a sequel.

126 v 126 (or even higher) on ps4 would be a very attractive selling point.

Leeli67  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 6:23 pm

Pretty much the same as what they all said, the engine has to laying around somewhere, Give it to someone who knows what their doing ….

Leeli67  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 6:36 pm

You have a masterpiece on your hands just needed to be marketed better

grantb1969  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 7:06 pm

I bought the game in it’s first week of release after playing the public beta. It is still the go-to game that I have on my system and MAG2 would be the only reason right now that I would buy a PS4.

MAG was a game changer fps and deserves to have its successes built upon.

Make MAG2.

Moejoe  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 7:26 pm

Zipper developed an amazing game but failed to give it the support that a “MMOFPS” requires. MAG was only just an experiment to them yet it sold over a million copies and developed a dedicated playerbase and community of tens of thousands of players.

If Sony were to put some actual effort into supporting MAG or a sequel, it would be guaranteed to be a tremendous success. Zipper got sidetracked with Socom 4 and left in bugs and glitches that should’ve been patched a long ago and left out features that were promised years ago (such as clan battle support).

hitmanhuntr  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 8:18 pm

Everything moejoe said is true.
Mag is definitely one of the great if not the best FPS that was ever released.
If there was just better marketing for it before it was released it would have done way better.
The DLC that was released for it wasn’t thought out. They just said here you go.
MAG was great in every way possible(other than clan battle support). It deserves a sequel.

LAXfrEEk880  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 9:41 pm

if they could keep the entire gameplay mechanics aka the shooting, knifing and objective base gameplay exactly the same just update the graphics, make more game modes on top of the already present ones, more guns per faction and the all important clan battle support you’d have one kick a$$ game that i’m sure would draw a HUGE following with more advertising. that and sell the disc with a mic. that would make me a very very happy LAX.

johner50  |  December 3rd, 2012 at 10:12 pm

MAG is by far, my favorite game of all time. I have never owned a game that I played everyday for 3 years straight like I do with MAG.

Jaffacake-72  |  December 4th, 2012 at 1:28 am

MAG 2 would be the only reason to buy a PS4

Moejoe  |  December 4th, 2012 at 1:54 am

Also, the MAG forums has a combined total of over 1,100,000 posts with over 870,000 posts in the general forums and over 200,000 in the clan discussion. This is more than the Killzone forums, Resistance forums, and Starhawk forums combined. This number surpasses the total posts on the Gran Turismo forums, Metal Gear Solid forums, Grand Theft Auto forums, and even the Call of Duty forums. The MAG forums were by far the most active Playstation forums of all time when it was in its prime.

A testament to just how large, active, and dedicated of a community MAG developed and the potential it still has. Sony should have payed a lot closer attention to these numbers, it’s obvious there’s a lot more people backing up this game than they think.

REGIS_MARK_V  |  December 4th, 2012 at 2:16 am

The REGIS approves! MAG was definitely the best FPS this gen on PS3. Dust 514 wont even come close to what MAG has done.

JaZZa01  |  December 4th, 2012 at 2:19 am

Market the game properly, retain gameplay mechanics, add new weapons/game modes/clan wars, and above all learn from previous mistakes; ta da, you now have the most popular shooter on PS4 Sony.

Slater-M8  |  December 4th, 2012 at 3:54 am

Mag 2 better be on Ps4 🙂

A_Higher_Place  |  December 4th, 2012 at 7:07 am

If there was a MAG 2 it would have my full wallet of support, Sony ;). Now, I know you like that idea.

Keep the originality and lightness of the gameplay but add more maps, add more character customization, etc. Don’t toy with the core parts are try and change the gameplay. Keep the game modes we have, but give us new maps. They provide hours of entertainment. MAG is still running on basically the 3 original maps it came with.

Hype it up a little more too. You need to risk a bit of money to gain a lot.

Zebra---One  |  December 4th, 2012 at 9:36 am

Bought MAG 8-15-11, it is pretty much the only on line game I`ve played since then.Sad to think I missed the hay day of the game.I won`t miss the hay day again IF they made MAG 2.

PLYMCO_PILGRIM  |  December 4th, 2012 at 10:53 am

Yeah I would buy MAG2 in a heartbeat, in fact I’d pre order it.

I still have yet to find a game that replaces the awesome feeling of the Massive Action Game.

Aaron1664  |  December 4th, 2012 at 12:55 pm

Who wouldn’t want a Mag 2?

Split acquistion.
Add clan battles/lobbies.
Have one suppression map and extra sabo maps.

The movement, pace, scale, damage to health ratios and abilty to get coordinated and work as teams made for an addictively fun experience unrivaled on any console.

If you can make sequels to killzone and resistance you have to a make a sequel to mag.

X-ception  |  December 4th, 2012 at 2:30 pm

Sony, you ate bleeding money. Letting a sur fire money maker slip through your fingers would be par for your recent decision making. Surprise me and give me MAG 2.

COTTERMAN  |  December 4th, 2012 at 2:47 pm

I am still playing it to this day. I got it on release day and it was one of the best opening days for a game. The scale was like nothing else.

BRUTALBRANDON  |  December 4th, 2012 at 3:01 pm

DUST 514 is no MAG II, make MAG II please, thank you.

TiMeSpLiT--TeR  |  December 4th, 2012 at 3:19 pm

Make MAG 2. Add helicopters, Aircraft, Tanks, 2 factions only.

whatghjkiuuyrffd  |  December 4th, 2012 at 3:31 pm

sony would be fools not to make mag 2. or just fix mag and add new stuff. its not that hard just get someone who don’t have ther head up ther ass to fix it.

PaChO_PaChO  |  December 4th, 2012 at 3:55 pm

Just a great game, hope we can get a MAG 2!

Rraymondo316  |  December 4th, 2012 at 4:02 pm

Heck id buy a PS4 just for MAG 2

Sony make it happened!!

Zombfreak666  |  December 4th, 2012 at 4:30 pm

i bought mag the first week that it came out but missed its hay-day due to moving around a bunch which kept me away from my ps3 for the majority of 2 years but whenever i could id play mag as much as i could if they made a mag2 there wouldn’t be a reason on earth that would stop me from purchasing the game after all the wonderful memories that the game which was the reason i got a headset gave me.

CN_SwaGGeR  |  December 4th, 2012 at 4:46 pm

MAG is probably the most fun multiplayer game I will ever play! Despite the few downs, the real loyal players stick with it, and that’s how it’s gonna die, with us by its side!

TheFreshPrinceIV  |  December 4th, 2012 at 5:21 pm

Some people have already mentioned similar oppinions, but, what the hell? MAG is easiest, the best exclusive that has come out for playstation 3. BattleField 3 and Black Opps 2 has nothing on MAG, yes, the two games may have better graphics but as already mentioned we keep comming back! MAG 2 should definitely should be put on the market.

Ving_Tsun_studnt  |  December 4th, 2012 at 5:45 pm

I can say that the last few months has been very difficult trying o find a replacement for MAG. Yes, we still get to play, and we will continue until the end. No chance of buying ps4 without a sequel. As promising as DUST is, it will not replace your best game ever. You,(SONY), invest in the re-hashes of cod, bf, resistance, killzone, etc. and all you have is the same game with improved graphics. Why not make MAG 2? Just read the above posts. You can not deny the fanbase support that this game has.

CHOLO123456789  |  December 4th, 2012 at 6:55 pm

you should make MAG 2 its a bad ass game just make sure to deal with the lag and the connection lost also the glitching problems any way if you make it you will have a lot of buyers so why not giving it a try

ClovePsyKoz  |  December 4th, 2012 at 8:51 pm

I, along with many people i know would gladly return to an upgraded and improved Shadow War.

Maddenholic33  |  December 4th, 2012 at 9:04 pm

I would love to see a MAG 2, if it were to be a ps4 title I would actually stand on line for it, it would be the only game I could imagine being truly worth it.

Tbone322  |  December 4th, 2012 at 10:39 pm

Domination during it’s prime was easily the most fun I’ve ever had on PS3. I would buy a PS4 for MAG2.

OSUBucksFan1  |  December 4th, 2012 at 11:25 pm

Greatest game of all time, even with limited support. This game could challenge COD & BF3 for FPS supremacy if it was even remotely marketed.
It has an almost cultish following of die hard supporters…it would be a shame if the torch wasn’t passed to a new version.

M4-GEO  |  December 5th, 2012 at 12:08 am

MAG was the best FPS, is the best FPS and always will be!! no matter how many good games are out there i’ll always go back to MAG!!

sony, don’t you have the balls to make MAG 2? do you really care about us like you always say?

ironman12364  |  December 5th, 2012 at 12:28 am

MAG 2 would be interesting, have high hopes for this.

@Clan MAG clan leaders/Officers/members. Please spread the word make thread on your clan website, tell clan members in-game, have this in your link in online forums. MAG has been known for having die hard fans so have always loved to play the game for years now and it will be up to those guys to spread the word about this and get people to up vote it.

Sneaky_Ninja_94  |  December 5th, 2012 at 1:09 am

I know everyone has this one way or another but MAG was simply the best FPS internationally! It has three years running and still counting but my point is that new games have been released during that time but the MAG community still came back to playing this awesome FPS! No matter what game I end up playing I always end up coming back to MAG

The issues were simple: Zipper forgot about MAG and continued with SOCOM 4 which at the end made MAG run in one server instead of 2. That problem made the game have more lag than the usual. The DLC’s had to be thought out before releasing them, they were good ideas but not executed right. There was no Clan support, yes the clan deploy was a great addition but it was still difficult to get into a game against a specific clan. The most common mistake from the bigginig was that SVER was over-powerd. Anyone could go into SVER and be “good” but once you went in to Valor or Raven that’s where the game got challenging! and finnally it wasn’t advertised correctly. If Zipper or Sony would’ve put a much better effort the game would have been more successful.
