Bring back HDMI-CEC

Idea 72874 | Posted in , by | May 20, 2014

Please bring back HDMI-CEC for all TV sets. Until a recent system update, turning on the PS3 would turn on my TV and change inputs. Sony has apparently restricted that feature to Bravia owners only.

Downvoted. Works fine on my Vizio, I just did it today. The problem is not with the PS3, it’s with your settings. Double check your PS3 and your TV, and make sure the PS3 is still connected directly to the TV and isn’t going through a switch or something like that.

I have a Bravia TV, and HDMI-CEC currently does not work with my PS3. I’ve wondered if it’s due to enabling auto-download at night. Whatever the cause, it’s not related to TV brands.

This works fine on my samsung tv. I know it was removed from certain FAT model ps3s with a firmware update due to unpredictable effects such as turning the tv if auto update was enabled but not turning it back on leaving users with the TV on overnight or all day whilst they’re at work draining electricity depending what time they had it set to.

Tested it on a Bravia, LG, Panasonic and it works on them all
