DS4 ‘shell’ to fit around PS Vita

Idea 73770 | Posted in , by | May 22, 2014

A DS4 shaped shell to fit the PS Vita in, so that we have L2/R2 buttons instead of using back touchscreen. Would be usefull for Remote Play.

There are already grips made by a 3rd party company for 14.99 that is already the perfect form factor for this idea. I use it and just think it would be perfect if they added Bluetooth bumper buttons (they would fit) and made the pressure triggers Bluetooth.

Or maybe the L2/R2 buttons could have stylus type things (like for iPads) attached to the back of the buttons so that they triggered the rear touchpad in the L2/R2 spot.

that would be nice since I tend to touch the back touch pad by accident when playing. maybe the shell could help protect the screen and rear pad too. I’m currently using a 3ds screen protector that I cut to fit the touch pad since it gets the most scratched. screen protectors get air bubbles where the chips and scratches are, but a shell like you described with buttons could help protect it while still allowing for functionality (like in disgaea 4, where the only reason to use the touch pad is to cycle through characters or skip one page at a time. the shell described would be perfect for that)
