Follow games/publishers by “subscribing”

Idea 73804 | Posted in by | June 5, 2014

Subs receive important notifications/follow games for release info, DLC, news, and participate in forums, right from the UI.

Sorted like the friends list. Dedicated homepages updated by pubs/devs.

Had that idea figured out as well.
It could be the company itself; EA, Ubisoft.
It could be a franchise; Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed
It could be on a system itself; PS4, PS3, PS Vita
Or peripherals.

Use Tags that people can subscribe to and get the latest news concerning what they want to see. Mainly News/update.

Actually it would be really cool to get info in the feeds on upcoming games, gaming news, dev diaries etc. Kind of like G+ for Playstation.

This is virtually pointless considering how we already get all possible information through Gameinformer and even the home page of psn. Subscribing seems to be more a big deal for gamers who plan on working with that specific group whether it be through Sony or instead of Sony and right after college.

I don’t see how this is “virtually pointless” at all. The newsfeed seems a little empty right now in my opinion, and being able to get new updates on certain companies or franchises would be great. Not everyone gets Gameinformer magazines and some of those who do, don’t have the time to look through it and read the entire article. This is the next generation of gaming, why not make it more convenient for our generation?

I’d like to be able to follow an announced game from the PlayStation blog. At the moment, I’m using the wishlist to remember games I might want to buy down the road, but I’d like to be able to keep a list of games I’m interested in, *including* unreleased games.

Also, following a dev makes a lot of sense. I’d follow Insomniac, Naughty Dog, …
