DualShock 4 Flashing Low Battery Indicator

Idea 75235 | Posted in , by | July 26, 2014

For me it is not that intuitive to know when the controller’s baterry is going to die. I think if the controller light starts to flash then I could connect it and continue playing.

This is awful! I do not need my controller flashing and distracting me while lighting up my room in chaos! The onscreen indicator does it’s job perfectly.

Think of it as an option. If some people want it, they can have it.
If others (like you) hate it, they can keep it off.

I Like the Idea. Of course this as to be optional. I prefer my controler flashing that a message on the PS4. Thats my preference.

@1 Yea, until you miss the indication, and die a horrible death during multiplayer…

This feature makes no sense and should not be even a consideration. PS4 uses the light on the back of the controller to add more ways to play games with the PS camera. By having that light flash to indicate low battery, it could potential disrupt gameplay. Playstation will never go for this, it just makes no sense.

Having a message pop-up every 5 seconds on the screen is very distracting.

That said, orange works fine.

the controller has a speaker it should be able to tell you “low battery” and “fully charged”

How about a simple 0% to 100% charge notification

I put a small indicator in a visible place with the colors starting from green ( full ) gradually until the red ( empty ).

an audio notification would drive me crazy. I’d be ok with the light as long as it fades in and out instead of flashing on and off. I often dismiss the battery low notification and forget when my controller is dying, so it would be a nice little reminder for me.
