It’d be a great feature but I think it’s fair to purchase more space instead of them simply giving it to us for free.

TwiztidJackel  |  December 3rd, 2014 at 7:24 pm

Very annoying to have everything auto upload, then see you’re out of storage space. It’s only been a year!! This is definitely needed.

Flail  |  December 5th, 2014 at 12:13 pm

With the huge file size of PS4 save games (minimum of 11mb!!) this is absolutely mandatory for this service!

DVD_Sandwich  |  December 30th, 2014 at 1:35 am

1 GB is plenty of space for PS3 and Vita, but for PS4 we’re already running out of space barely a year after the console’s release. It wouldn’t be so bad if the save data wasn’t 20x the size of PS3 save data!

QuadraQ  |  January 1st, 2015 at 2:00 pm

I’m a huge Sony fan and a long time PS+ member. I have a PS3, a PS Vita, and a PS4, with a large game library for each (thanks in no small part to PS+) and while the 3 GB limit for online game saves seems like a lot at first, it does get used up (especially with some PS4 saves which get very large). I’m dealing with that now and it’s horrible. But the limit makes no sense in this day and age when storage is so cheap. Please remove this limitation Sony!

doodoopuss  |  January 12th, 2015 at 4:47 pm

With Microsoft having unlimited cloud storage (and they pay for Live, just like we pay for PSN), we should also have unlimited. 1GB is a hilariously small amount for the PS4. It was adequate for last gen gaming but not current gen.

KBG29  |  January 18th, 2015 at 7:04 am

PS4 needs way more cloud storage. WWE 2k15 takes up 750/1024MB all by it self.

Mikraphne  |  February 3rd, 2015 at 11:27 am

In less than a year from getting my PS4 on release day, mine was maxed out. It wouldn’t be so bad if there was an actual Backup Utitlity like what the PS3 had. Right now, you have to copy each individual save to the hard drive. which was terribly overlooked.

Upgrade the storage, or let us link in our Dropbox/Google drive accounts where we can dictate our own storage size. Even free account give out 5+ GBs, which should be enough to get by for a few years. 1 GB is a joke.

Xanthus179  |  February 12th, 2015 at 7:56 pm

I just hit the limit as well, and I too have had my PS4 for less than a year. It was Dragon Age: Inquisition that put me over the top, but with other games, such as Little Big Planet 3 and it’s 500MB save file, I would be immediately in trouble. I also recently picked up a couple other games, and there will certainly not be enough room for those, regardless of their size.

While there is no expectation for my console to break anytime soon, having saves automatically stored on a cloud is great for one’s piece of mind. If not your cloud, let us choose another storage option, such as Google or Drop Box.

PSN_Tokeio  |  February 20th, 2015 at 7:53 pm

1GB is no longer sufficient storage for the next generation of save files. Please add more storage space or provide additional automated options for backing up our precious save files.

melka_ashur  |  March 12th, 2015 at 2:45 pm

1GB is a total joke, when you consider a game like Little Big Planet 3 having a save file of 500MB. I only have a ps4 and Vita, and my online storage was full within the first couple months of purchasing the ps4… Since then i’ve had the annoyance of juggling which games you save and which to delete, since the ps4 automatically uploads game saves to the cloud, as well as seeing the constant “cannot upload” error in my notifications due to the cloud being full.

It’s like were being punished for supporting PlayStation and playing lots of games, plus just bad business.

Cloud storage is so cheap this days. Please give us more!

narvikgutten  |  March 17th, 2015 at 8:52 am

LBP3 with over half a gig makes me upvote this

R-Rated_Joker  |  March 20th, 2015 at 5:33 pm

Getting to the point where I have no room to upload save data on ps4.

Smack_Damage  |  April 1st, 2015 at 1:38 pm

I currently have three consoles backing up content to the cloud. We should get at least one extra gigabyte for every device that we add.

USRevenge2  |  April 11th, 2015 at 9:28 pm

This is sorely needed. 1gb was fine with ps3 where most saves were only a few mb in size, but on ps4 many games have 100+mb save files. 10 gb of cloud storage would be a huge benefit.

VIDEOgameDROME  |  April 11th, 2015 at 10:13 pm

I didn’t think this was a problem until I got a PS4! I just hit 1GB yesterday. I had tons of saves from Vita & PS3 and I wasn’t even half-way full until I got a PS4 and took a look at the size of the save files! PLEASE INCREASE THE SIZE!

TrippinHippie22  |  April 11th, 2015 at 11:11 pm

I’ve been a long time PS+ user and supporter. I’ve been using the cloud storage service since around 2013 and have loved the fact that my saves are safe. However, with the large save data files with new games, I’m having to decide what saves I want to be safe in the cloud. I think the amount of space should be doubled or tripled, speaking as an owner of the PS4, PS3 and Vita.

kennyadr  |  April 11th, 2015 at 11:47 pm

Needs to be unlimited! Come on Sony!

Brewno  |  April 11th, 2015 at 11:48 pm

Little Big Planet save is 1/2 of that space. Apotheon is like 310Mb. 80% of my “online” space used by 2 games. What about my other games? SONY, 1Gb was so 2001!

kineticshampoo  |  April 12th, 2015 at 12:01 am

In 2015, we shouldn’t even have to think about storage. Multiple free services give us at least 5GB, why can’t Sony give us more than that when we’re paying for it through PS+?

twodoggys  |  April 12th, 2015 at 1:01 am

this games are taking up more space, such as dragon age, apotheon, grand theft auto, just to name a few. there is a need to increase the cloud storage on the playStation 4.

Moonlord_  |  April 12th, 2015 at 1:06 am

Sony charges for cloud saves and only gives 1GB while the competition offers unlimited space for free. What’s wrong with this picture? 1GB isn’t sufficient at all and something should be done about the inflated file sizes as well.

Sushidrew  |  April 12th, 2015 at 1:07 am

The year is 2015. Space limit for game saves should be a thing of the past.

TheFlyingPuffin  |  April 12th, 2015 at 3:22 am

This needs to happen. I feel like I’m being punished for buying a lot of titles ^^ Have to delete saves I actually NEED all the time as I play many titles simultaneously.

Justin10473  |  April 12th, 2015 at 7:54 am

Its 2015, there a free services that offer more than 1GB in cloud storage. Its absolutely ridiculous that a paid service offers such a pittance.

freyaka  |  April 12th, 2015 at 10:44 am

My free Gmail account is up to 15gb storage the service I pay for gives me 1 GB? I constantly hit that 1 gb limit to the point where it no longer offers any value to me. For me to use it I would have to clear it out frequently.

Jamull99  |  April 12th, 2015 at 11:45 am

Game saves are larger than ever this generation and we need more space. We pay for this service, but other companies give more space for free! Please, Sony!

mavisp  |  April 12th, 2015 at 4:32 pm

More cloud storage space would be awesome; especially as it’s being funded.

If not that, then how about better control over what is saved to the cloud storage and what isn’t; I’m never intuitively confident that when I delete a game save from the cloud, I’m not also deleting it from the local system.
And a better indication of which files are the largest.

thank you

TurboThrill  |  April 12th, 2015 at 5:54 pm

If I may add an idea to this suggestion: It would be terribly useful if users could easily find out how much online save storage space is currently used up.

silentchiloner  |  April 12th, 2015 at 6:14 pm

When your competitor offers unlimited for only the gold membership then you should do the same. Please remember cloud storage is a “PS Plus” perk and thus we should not have to pay more to fill it up as lets be honest only those who have a lot of games use the feature to make it get to capacity. Its crazy that this is even an issue.

mrdeadhead  |  April 16th, 2015 at 1:22 am

it’s ludicrous that you’d make a system in which people who play A LOT of games (i.e. already give you plenty of sales on top of their PS+ membership) are inadvertently punished for making you lots of money. i’m only on PS3 and i’m nearly full, and that’s without the majority of my game saves (because i lost them when my first ps3 bricked [thanks] before i got a subscription).

GeocoolGamer  |  April 24th, 2015 at 1:16 am

I reached 1GB because of little big planet 3 which takes up 500MB!!!
What if I buy another game that consumes so much space ? I would have a cloud storage that can only store 2 save game files. Please fix this.

Phokal  |  April 26th, 2015 at 10:31 pm

This limit has been hit by anyone that’s been using PS+ or bought a dozen retail titles. It’s also a feature that is measurably worse than the competition (Steam and Xbox both offer Cloud Saves with more storage). If this doesn’t get addressed soon, more and more people will begin to see these “Cannot Upload” error messages. Most people I know already have to manually delete saves to make room after Apotheon, GTAV, Infamous, or a few other titles helped him hit the limit.

Insomnia999  |  May 2nd, 2015 at 9:19 am

This needs to happen. 1GB is too small!

Hatchetforce  |  May 19th, 2015 at 4:26 pm

The Witcher Wild Hunt has game saves moving past 100MB. This needs to be instituted.

Hatchetforce  |  May 20th, 2015 at 8:55 am

Also would be helpful if they let saves autobackup to an external drive.

cpdehli  |  June 19th, 2015 at 5:52 pm

I’ve only had my PS4 for a few months and I’ve already run out of space! This really needs to be upgraded. Love my Playstation, just wish I had more space 🙂

Oni-Legion  |  June 27th, 2015 at 7:35 pm

I’d love additional cloud storage. 1 GB just isn’t enough when some games like LittleBigPlanet take up nearly half of that. PSN has gotten better and better…this enhancement would be amazing!

HuntingFever  |  July 2nd, 2015 at 7:49 am

1gb wasn’t enough even for the PS3 thanks to games like Afrika and WWE 13 which had enormous saves, WWE 13 actually had saves that were 3gb in size so no chance of backing them up without having to backup your entire Hard Drive (which takes hours anyway). On the PS4, the situation is even worse because the minimum save file size for most games is approx 10.5mb and with games like Fallout 4 due in the very near future, the paltry 1gb of Cloud Space will evaporate virtually overnight. Either increase the amount of space to something sensible like 100gb or do what Microsoft did and give us unlimited storage space, because this problem is only going to get worse the longer the PS4 is out.

jdizzle0420  |  July 2nd, 2015 at 1:41 pm

They need to give us at least 10GB for PS4 imo. The save files are so big and I like keeping all my saves in case I want to go back to it later or a DLC comes out etc…

ikildaddy  |  July 2nd, 2015 at 1:46 pm

They need to give us more space! 1 GB is no where near enough!

Rammstone  |  July 2nd, 2015 at 7:16 pm

Please, more storage. I have 1,7gb now locally so I can only upload like half my savegames. Backing up to USB storage is a pain, since you can only copy one game at a time. What happened to select all?

lionheartcs  |  July 6th, 2015 at 4:48 am

Microsoft has you guys beat with this one. Unlimited storage and your game saves automatically load up no matter what Xbox you log into.

1 GB is paltry when you consider the massive size of game saves these days. It was fine when they were 100+ KBs, but now they’re 100+ MBs and that’s a huge problem.

Upgrade the storage, please! Even 50 GB would be better than nothing. I’d appreciate an effort to go unlimited like Xbox.

Mental_Goat  |  July 13th, 2015 at 6:15 pm

This seriously needs to happen. When one game (Little Big Planet 3 on PS4) can take up just over 80% of our online storage, it’s seriously time to increase the storage capacity.

Elleve  |  July 29th, 2015 at 2:46 pm

This has to happen – about half my storage is taken up by Drive Club alone.

Trylobot  |  July 30th, 2015 at 11:13 am

1 GB of space is ludicrous when games automatically try to upload 300 MB save files. We need 10 GB or more for this to be worth paying for.

DarkNemesis_III  |  August 10th, 2015 at 1:01 pm

We need to have the PS+ Cloud Storage increase to minimum 5GB ASAP
