Digital game rentals

Idea 79098 | Posted in , , by | May 25, 2015

app that allows game rentals where you can rent games digitally For one week. The game would be digitally downloaded. Then after your rental is up, you can either buy or re-rent the game.

The problem is that games are getting massive now. It makes no sense to download 50GBs + updates for a few days of play. That can be days of downloading for a rental before you can ever actually play the game you rented.

Naw – download speeds are getting faster all the time. I downloaded about 50GB of games in less than two hours just the other day (and no – we don’t pay for ridiculous internet, it’s only about $40/mth).

Even if it took days to download, some people might prefer to wait a couple of days and find out whether or not they really like the game rather than dropping $60 on something they don’t even enjoy.

Playstation should put the option out there and let people decide how long they’re willing to wait. With as fast as internet connections are getting these days, I would guess that the wait isn’t a barrier for most people (setup the download overnight or while you’re at work if need be).

I kinda agree with the rent option as I have spent hundreds on games just find out they suck or just were not worth the money I spent so an option to rent a game would be nice
