Suspend Multiple Games Simultaneously

Idea 85716 | Posted in , by | July 28, 2016

Please allow users to suspend more than one game at a time. I like to frequently switch between games and would appreciate the ability to do so without exiting and starting a game each time I would like to switch.

I think this is not possible due to hardware related issues.

Suspended games are kept in RAM so that would not be possible without swap files to store RAM content on HDD. Would probably not be much faster than just stopping and starting games.

You are correct, but I personally think the swap file method would actually be pretty amazing in some cases. For example, I’d be able to bypass the excruciating FFXIV login process every time I want to play it, by suspending it at the title screen. Another surprisingly common occurrence for me is that I’ll be in the middle of some long scene or battle in one game (for example, with my last checkpoint 15 minutes ago and my next checkpoint 15 minutes away), when suddenly a friend wants me to join them in another game. Instead of losing my progress, or having to say “hold on I just started this really long fight”, I could suspend it to a page file and join them almost immediately.
